Kodak 8069627 reviews

E100VS 135-36 Ektachrome Professional Color Slide Film (ISO-100) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back to film? I used this film in my old ELAN 7 equipped with Canon 50mm f1.8 lens for mostly daytime nature shots. I was primarily focusing on my personal evaluation of the film vs. digital (Rebel XS/Tokina 35mm f2.8 combo) experience. I can say for the purpose of this review that this is one great slide film that delivers deeply saturated and beautiful colors and IQ that was better than those of the digital Rebel. The feel and especially the viewfinder of ELAN 7 was also a clear winner. However, at the end of the day I also had to admit that combined cost of the film, processing and scanning made this whole thing almost unpractical. I guess next I should to try a full frame DSLR..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beautiful, Vibrant Film This film is great for nature photography, ultimately (with E100G) having replaced portra and ektar for my only occasional color shooting. This film is anywhere from 70%-20% more expensive than the color negative options, and development at a pro lab is about twice the price of color negative development, but at least for me the rare times I shoot color I use one of the two Ektachrome 100 transparencies...While the E100VS is vibrant, it's not cartoonish or even as extreme as technicolor, but a nice median that accentuates the the most vibrant colors but maintains a natural feeling in a photo...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MARVELOUS FILM! Kodak E100VS meets the expectation of anyone with good knowledge in color theory in that it reproduces color with unprecedented naturalness. The only way that this film can disappoint is if it exposed incorrectly. Kodak E100VS is a must have for flower painters who like to use transparencies as reference for their paintings. I have used high quality transparencies by different manufactures, including Kodak itself. But Kodak E100VS is hard to beat. Expertise: Closeups/Macro of flowers! Problems Encountered: None so far. This film delivers to my expectation. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Several films by different manufactures Items I Recommend: Canon 100 2.8Macro USM and EF70-2004LUSM

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE KING OF 35MM SLIDE FILM!!!! THE RICHEST COLOR SATURACTION FILM EVER. FUJICHROME VELVIA 1OO IS SUPERB HOWEVER I CHOOSE E100VS FOR NOW. WHEN I GET NIKON DSLR THEN I WILL NOT REPLACE MY FAVORITE NIKON F5 AND F100/MB-15 BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE POWER OF COLOR FROM E100VS. IT TASTE SUPER SWEET LIKE CANDY WITH TOO MUCH SUGAR.:) DEEP SKY BLUE WITH OR WITHOUT CIRRUS CLOUDS IS MY DREAM BECAUSE I LOVE BLUE. DEAD ON!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Large-Print Landscape Dream I have used VS for over 8 years (about the time E100 emerged as the pro Kodak E-6 film) in my landscape work. The colors are brilliantly rich, the grain non-existent (great for large prints) and the results predictable (a boon in a film, for those of you who've always shot digital). In short, it continues to be the only film I shoot for my landscape work. It tends toward the red and orange (not blue and green, like Velvia), so sunrise and sunset shots are stellar in saturation and punch. Brilliant stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good replacement for Kodachrome If anything could ever fill Kodachrome's shoes, this is the best I've found yet. Elite Chrome is a joke, and Elite Chrome Extra Color is a bad joke. I can depend upon this film to give me that 1950's look that I prefer, and to do it in any light or conditions. Very good saturation without being over-saturated, and posessed of it's own depth. This should be your new staple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich in colours film The images are vivid indeed. Some people say the colours are oversaturated, I do not subscribe to this point of view. The colours are exactly as I would expect for landscape or travel photography. As far as the portrait are concerned it might be a different story. The colours are different than Velvia, not better or worse, just different, more decided perhaps. The grain in Kodak is much bigger than Velvia 100 though. E100VS and Velvia scans equaily easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FAREWELL TO E100VS ! AS I KNOW THAT EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY STOP MAKING ONE OF THE HOTTEST SLIDE FILM EVER. IT'S GONE WHEN IT'S DISCOUNTINUE. AND ALSO SEE OTHER REVIEW, THE KING OF 35MM SLIDE FILM, ON 8/2/2008. WHEN I GET NIKON DSLR THEN I WILL NOT REPLACE MY FAVORITE NIKON F5 AND F100/MB-15. RIGHT NOW I AM NOW REPLACE NIKON F100/MB-15 BUT I KEEP MY NIKON F5 AS COLLECTION. THE CURRENT NIKON DSLR I HAVE IS NIKON D2X BODY. I STILL HAVE FEW ROLLS OF E100VS IN THE REFRIGERATOR, FOR MY NIKON NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY WITH MY NIKON F5 ON FALL FOLIAGE 2012 ALONG WITH MY NIKON D2X THEN END OF YEAR 2012 WILL BE THE END FOR MY FILM PHOTOGRAPHY. I WILL BE DEPRESSED WHEN END OF THE ROLL OF MY E100VS WILL BE THE END. I CONSIDER KODAK EKTACHROME E100VS, ONE OF TRUE AMERICAN ICON. FAREWELL TO E100VS. :(
