Making a better connection with yourself can help you live your best life, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Smartwatch makes it easier than ever to do both. The updated strap design of the Watch4 brings Samsung's BioActive Sensors closer to your wrist, helping to provide even more accurate readings when using the Watch4 to monitor your health and wellness. Using sensors built into the back of the watch and its two side buttons, the Watch4 can measure your ECG, BIA, and blood oxygen. These can be useful tools during your day, as you work out, and even when you sleep.

In addition to your health and wellness, the Watch4 smartwatch helps you connect with others, remain informed, and stay entertained. Thanks to Wear OS powered by Samsung, the best aspects of Tizen and Wear OS come together to give you seamless connectivity to Android smartphones and access to a huge library of apps that cover health, fitness, music streaming, and more. As you use the Watch4, you can make it fit your personal style with a swappable watch band, AR Emojis, different color backgrounds, and fonts. Over 40 watch faces are available out of the box, with more downloadable online.

Body Composition

You can check your BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) score anytime by touching two fingers to the side buttons. Built-in sensors there work with those touching your wrist to take 2400 readings in 15 seconds, giving you measurements of your body's fat, muscle, and water mass. Samsung worked to ensure that these sensors are 98% accurate when compared to standard DXA scans.

Heart Smart

The integrated ECG sensors can measure your heart rate in real time, keeping you informed on any detected abnormal readings. All of the data can be sent straight to a compatible smartphone for sharing with others.

Do You Snore?

By measuring your blood oxygen (SpO2) every second, the Watch4 can track your breathing and snoring throughout the night, giving you a sleep score in the morning. This data can help you adjust your environment and sleeping habits so you can get a more restful night's sleep.

Stay Motivated with Challenges

We all know it's important to get our exercise in every day, but staying consistently motivated on our own can be difficult. Samsung incorporates Challenges into the Watch4 to not only help yourself, but to also help those you care about. The feature lets you compete with friends and family to see who can come out on top by tracking your steps through a live message board. A point system is used to determine who wins commemorate badges and you'll get updates on where you rank and who pulled ahead, prompting you to get up and take the lead.

Bluetooth & Wi-Fi

With support for Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), you can wirelessly connect with your smartphone and optional headphones to stream music and share fitness data.

One UI

Use the touchscreen and two side buttons to quickly navigate through apps and menus. You can also use gestures to answer smartphone calls and dismiss alerts.

Samsung Watch4 SM-R870 Reviews

Super nice watch. But never got my chosen band.

I'm not sure why I didn't get the band I chose. Maybe it's on its way behind my watch? Either way the watch is great. Easy to set up and use.

Great watch HORRIBLE battery life

I really wish samsung would do something about the battery life of their smart watches. This is the third one that I've owned (also had the Active and earlier gear watch 2). They start off giving you about a day and a half to two days. by six months to a year your are needing to charge it twice a day. Forget about wearing it for sleep monitoring, if you do it will be dead before lunch the next day. I feel like any smart watch should give you at least 3 days per charge, this is not the case with Samsung (apple watches are not much better). Samsung comments on all these bad reviews but they don't really seem to be listening to their customers as this has been an issue for more than 5 generations of Galaxy watches.

Very good features

I have had this watch for a while now. I almost returned it because the battery life was so bad. But, I found out I couldn't get my old watch back. So, I wanted a smart watch and decided to keep it. Over time, I got used to the poor battery life because, the watch has some really good features. The heart rate monitor is a little suspect. But, I can overlook that as well. A few days ago, my watch battery was drained about 3-4 hours after a full charge. I put it on the charger and after a full charge, put it back on. The next morning I checked to make sure I didn't need to put it back on the charger and it was still at 100%. Several hours later, it had gone down to only 94%. So, the charge lasted me a couple of days. I checked out the battery settings and at some point, Samsung updated the watch with a battery saver option. I went from liking my watch to almost loving it. I'm very happy with the improvement. Now, if you all could get the heart rate monitor corrected, that would be great. I have been sitting still and my heart rate measures well over 120. I caught it a few minutes later and checked my heart rate had dropped to 73. I think I would know if my heart rate is over 100 bpm. After a workout, my heart rate is lower than my resting heart rate. So, there is definitely a problem. I really do like the watch. I want to love it. The display is beautiful and I like the many features. Now, if we could get them all to work with a decent battery life, it would be a great watch.

I got my watch and within 6 hours it keep telling me batteries are low. I don't use it other then to tell time and as a back up. I wish I would have kept my old watch the battery lasted longer.

Step back from the Watch 3

Coming from the Watch 3 to a Watch 4. I had the hardest time getting this to connect with my phone S21U. I had to reset, reboot, remove, install, and delete cache/data from a few apps associated with the watch numerous times. Not having a Altimeter Barometer widget is a huge step back and is an must have feature for me. The inaccuracy of the Alt/Baro is a huge negative. I work at 11' above sea level. My Watch 3 shows 21' and my Watch 4 shows me at 250', the baro shows 30 and doesn't have the tenth spot like my Watch 3, another negative. For example current pressure (using WX ASOS here at the airport) 29.52 in Hg, Watch 3 shows 29.5 and the Watch 4 shows 30, it rounds up.

Disappointed!!

I was so excited to upgrade from my original Galaxy watch. This is such a let down! How can a new "updated" version perform so poorly?! The battery life is garbage. Won't last a whole day, what is that? I got a new watch to do more not be more limited. So frustrated.
