Buy a SmallRig and save your money

Where to start. The cold shoe slots, while abundant, run to the shallow side. I cannot slide my Sennheiser wireless receivers into these (That is a common mic) Make sure that if you have the 6K G2, that you get this cage. I incorrectly got the advance kit for the 6K. Ugh. The original 6K is the same size as the 4K the G2 is the same size as the pro. Between BlackMagic, Tilta and Samsung, I'm ready to punt it all... the T5 and the T7 drives are different sizes, as is the newer Shield. So getting that tight little holder that sits on the top of the sun shield/visor is pointless. So then you go and get a smallrig universal. With would almost work on the port side of thing, but you have to try it on the battery side of things, then start messing with cables galore, and it is awkward. This stems from the raised portion in the center of the top of the cage. So I wound up ordering a Condor Blue universal drive holder which goes 20 2.3 (enough for the Samsung shield) If you get the focus/power handle that goes with this cage, make certain that you get the right on with the rosette and extending arm. This cage does come with an arca-swiss base plate built into the cage. The regular 6k/4K cage has a Tilta proprietary plate. As to the handle... it accepts the smaller battery, where the 4k/6K focus/power handle takes the larger 970 Battery. You would think the more power-hungry camera would get the larger one. Nope. So then you by the Tilta battery plate. If you can find a place to put it (you can, but yeesh... I've been finding workaround locations all week and it is exhausting) you will be overjoyed to find that the 12V out of that battery plate uses a different size plug than that of the underpowered focus/power handle - which means that you have to go digging around to gain access to the annoying power connection on the BlackMagic. By then, you are looking for a rickety chair and a short length of rope. Do yourself a favor. Save your money. Buy the less-cool smallrig cage. Take the money you would have spent trying to rig this contraption and buy a mount plate and some batteries and get on with your short life. The folks at Tilta, need to slow down and take a good look at the design decisions they are making, because the devil is in the details.

This is a solid cage IF you get the matching Tilta dovetail baseplate. The many 1/4-20 threads on the bottom of the cage are not all on the same level so you may not be able to attach a non-Tilta baseplate or quick release perfectly level. The cage slides L-R out of the Tilta baseplate when released, and the cage bottom will slide perfectly into the ARCA groove on the DJI Ronin RS2/RS3. That was a pleasant surprise for me :)

does Tillta Tiltaing Side Focus Handle Type, work with this cage, like it does with the 4K/6K cage?

You can use any of the Tilta Side focus handles except for the "type 1" versions. The type 1 versions attach to the cage via a dovetail on the bottom side. The Blackmagic 6k pro Tilta Cage does not have that dovetail on the bottom of it.
