Destroy the harmonic content of your sound and create dissonant effects with Frequency Shifter Plug-In Software from Kilohearts. This easy-to-use effect has a single control where you can adjust the amount of the frequency shift.
Frequency Shifter will run in your choice of DAW software on the VST, AU, and AAX platforms. The plug-in is also completely compatible with the Kilohearts Snapin ecosystem including Snap Heap, Multipass, and Phase Plant software.
Controls
- Shift display: Selects the amount of the frequency shift.
- Settings panel: Whenever you have your mouse cursor over a Snapin, there is a small arrow at the top right corner. It opens a settings panel where you handle presets.
- Randomize: Randomizes parameters to inspire your creativity.
- Bypass: Turn the effect off to A/B your tweaking.
- Resize: At the bottom right corner of all Kilohearts plug-ins is a handle for scaling the UI to any size. This allows you to get a good view of the controls no matter which screen resolution you may have set, and resizing also comes in handy if you need big controls for live performance, for example when using Formant Filter as a real-time effect on a touchscreen monitor during a live set. Resizing is not available when the plug-in is used inside a Snapin host.
Compatible with Kilohearts Snapin Ecosystem
- Frequency Shifter can be used as a traditional plug-in, but it is also compatible with the Kilohearts Snapin series including the Snap Heap, Multipass, and Phase Plant hosts.
- These hosts make it easy to combine multiple plug-ins to create serial and parallel effect chains for powerful audio processing and modulation capabilities.

- Multipass is available for purchase and offers a more advanced feature set including frequency-dependent processing.
- Phase Plant is a modular-style synthesizer engine that will also host Snapin plug-ins.
