Compact, lightweight, and versatile, the NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR, from Nikon, is an all-in-one zoom spanning a wide-angle to telephoto range. Poised to be a single lens solution for travel, walkaround, and everyday shooting, this 27-210mm-equivalent lens is ideal for applications ranging from landscapes to portraiture to distant, fast-moving subjects.

Helping achieve sharp results and steady handling, Vibration Reduction image stabilization compensates for up to 5 stops of camera shake for improved results when working in low-light conditions. A stepping motor provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance, along with full-time manual focus override, and there is a 7.9" minimum focusing distance for working with close-up subjects. Also, a programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings.

All-in-one zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 27-210mm equivalent focal length range.
Stepping motor delivers impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications.
Minimum focusing distance of 7.9" at the wide-angle position suits working with close-up subjects.
Vibration Reduction image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to 5 stops for sharper handheld shooting.
Programmable Control Ring is, by default, set to adjust manual focus but can also be used to control aperture or exposure compensation.

Bought for a carry around lens. Works great.

Great Lens No Hood

Perfect walking around all purpose zoom for my Z50. Sharp, small and a great match to the similarly small camera body. Only negative is Nikon's decision to sell the hood separately. The camera biz for profits must be driving this sort of cheap decision.

Great Addition to My Nikon Z 50

I'm very pleased I just got this lens for my Z 50. I first used this lens in the field this past weekend at the New York Botanical Garden. The lens did not disappoint. The wide range was very useful. Focusing was quick and precise. And the close up feature was surprisingly very good. Resulting photos are sharp and beautiful. However, I wish Nikon included this lens as the Z 50's kit lens when I bought my camera in October 2020. It's more useful that the 14-50 mm lens (however, I do like the small pancake feature of that lens and will keep it for special occasions). Also, I wish Nikon included a lens hood. It's annoying I need to buy the hood separately. Stuart

A good fit for the Z50

It's a good performer for the casual shooter. The range is nice though I prefer something a bit wider, but I can live with the range of this lens. I hope Nikon comes out with a non-zoom super wide like the 16mm Canon (full frame) and this lens and the super wide would make a great lightweight travel kit. Lens VR is a plus as the Nikon mirrorless DX cameras lack IBIS.

I used my old F lens temporarily on my new Z50 with the FTZ adapter. Finally had the extra cash to get the Z lens. First off looked sharper in the view finder. Ready to travel a lot lighter now.

Good lens, wish it went to 16 mm!

This lens is sharp enough, is well-sized to go with the Z50, for which it's a good one-lens or travel solution. For my style of shooting, I really wish it would go to a 24mm equivalent, i.e. 16mm on the wide end. I'd happily trade off some of the tele range. I realize that might make it a larger and more expensive lens, but that would be my druthers. But a 27-210 equivalent is still a reasonable compromise for the Z crop-sensor cameras.

Don't let the plastic lens mount dissuade you.

I had some initial hesitation about this lens as well as the 16-50mm due to the plastic lens mount. Now that I've used them both for a while I don't even think about it. Both are very sharp and the light weight is appreciated when carrying around. The VR is excellent and focusing is fast and quiet. The largely plastic construction keeps both the weight and cost down and is plenty sturdy. Really the only downside to the lens is that it is relatively slow in terms of f-stop. As is always the case, if it were faster it would be heavier, larger, and much more expensive. The high ISO capability of the Nikon Z fc I use this on is very good so I just increase the ISO a couple of stops when needed. The range of focal lengths (27-210mm full-frame equivalent), its small size and light weight make it a perfect walk around lens. It also focuses very closely and has nice bokeh when photographing objects on table tops for example. If you don't need the longer focal lengths, the Z 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 really make for a small, light, yet very sharp alternative.

fantastic little lens

the 18-140 is a perfect complement to the Z50 camera, the two creating an all-in-one combination for travel, and every-day carrying.
