Updating their flagship action camera with a 23MP sensor and a new G2 chip design for enhanced functionality, the HERO10 Black from GoPro adds more speed, performance, touch control responsiveness, and higher frame rates, rounding out this full-featured action camera. This newest model provides high-detail 5.3K60, 4K120, and 2.7K240 video and 23MP photos with updated professional settings and practical functions from its predecessor, the HERO9.

The front display, which in the previous HERO model showed status information, is now larger at 1.4" and offers a live view, allowing you to frame shots for vlogging and similar uses. A new HyperSmooth 4.0 digital image stabilization with in-camera horizon leveling lets you produce even smoother, more stable videos without a gimbal. While still a full-on action camera, the HERO10 Black makes use of its immense feature set to also let you use it as a webcam and for 1080p Full HD live streaming, and it also automatically connect to the cloud, allowing your footage to be uploaded while you shoot when you have a GoPro subscription. It provides a comprehensive solution for all your action cam adventures and it maintains a robust design that's 33' waterproof without an external housing required. An optional dive housing can additionally be used to take the camera into much deeper waters.

While all these features already combine to offer a powerhouse system, the HERO10 Black is further complete with many other features carried over from previous versions of the camera, some of which have also been enhanced. The suite of Power Tools remains consistent, including HindSight, and when turned on, it allows you to record 30 seconds of video prior to your hitting the record button, ensuring you'll never miss that important unexpected moment at a sports game or other event. These include a large 2.3" rear touchscreen with touch zoom, raw photo, and audio capture, looping video, horizon leveling, data overlays, time-lapse and night-lapse, LiveBurst to capture 1.5 seconds before and after your shot, 8x slo-mo, a 100 Mb/s bit rate, three microphones with advanced wind noise reduction, Protune features with professional video and audio settings, 14 voice commands such as, "GoPro, take a photo", and much more.

The HERO10 Black has a built-in, flip-out 2-prong mount on the bottom, letting you easily attach it to a large series of mounting accessories available from GoPro for all your applications, whether extreme sports or live streaming to Facebook. Multiple optional add-on mods are offered, such as the Max Lens Mod, which allows you to add an ultrawide 155° angle of view to assist in HyperSmooth stabilization. With social media in mind, the camera also lets you switch into portrait mode to capture images in the format ideal for platforms such as Instagram. The battery for the HERO10 Black has the same, long-lasting 1720mAh capacity as the HERO9, allowing you to operate the camera for long periods on a single charge.

Revolutionary Processor
The powerful new GP2 engine changes the game-snappy performance, responsive touch controls and doubles the frame rate for amazingly smooth footage. Designed specifically for the demanding nature of the GoPro, the GP2 "system on a chip" is by far the fastest.
New Front Screen + Performance Enhancements
Framing your shots for vlogging and selfies is better than ever with a high-quality front LCD screen with a smoother frame rate and crisp detail. Touch controls are snappy too, so the shutter is more responsive. Live streaming with HERO10 Black looks better than ever, and webcam functions are easy and seamless.
High-Res Photos + Videos, High Frame Rate
Step up to the sharpest-shooting GoPro ever. Upgraded to incredible 23MP photos and 5.3K video resolution at 60fps, HERO10 offers double the frame rate for amazingly smooth motion. Plus, there's 8x slo-mo at 2.7K and you can pause videos and grab 15.8MP still photos from 5.3K video that look amazing.
Sharp Image Quality
Shoot with fine detail, realistic textures, and stunning contrast, even in low light. Images look their best thanks to a new water-shedding hydrophobic lens cover that repels water while helping to eliminate lens flare and other artifacts.
Rugged and Waterproof to 33'
Completely waterproof and tougher than ever, HERO10 Black is versatile enough for any adventure. Its rugged build quality can take a beating and keep going, whether you're ripping through mud, snow, or water (to depths of 33'). The durable and scratch-resistant lens cover adds even more protection and can be easily replaced if needed.
HyperSmooth 4.0
HyperSmooth has never been smoother, and it's easy to dial in the best stabilization at all times. Plus, get even better low-light performance and horizon leveling with a higher tilt limit, so your footage looks perfectly straight when you want it.
Fast, Reliable Connectivity
Super easy, super fast. Transferring photos and videos from your cloud-connected GoPro to your phone is simple and versatile, with your choice of effortless wireless upload via the Quik app or a lightning-fast wired connection via USB 3.1 Gen 1. There's also unlimited cloud storage with hassle-free auto upload. Just plug in your camera when connected to your home Wi-Fi and the camera does the rest.
Long-Lasting Battery
A large-capacity, 1720mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery provides tons of juice, so you can spend more time shooting and less time swapping batteries.
Webcam + Live Streaming
Use your GoPro as the hottest webcam in the game. This versatile functionality carries over to live streaming, where your shots look incredibly stable as you vlog your next activity with buttery HyperSmooth stabilization and sharp resolution.
Optional Max Lens Mod
Pop on the optional Max Lens Mod for the widest-ever field of view on a HERO camera, an amazing 155°, plus get unbreakable Max HyperSmooth stabilization.

GoPro HERO10 BLACK Reviews

Great but wished for a USB adapter and longer cord

Bought this for time lapses. Without an AC adapter, the batteries died, after 2 hours, so I ended up finding one. The USB cable in this kit is very short. Everything in the kit performs as expected, so I can't fault the kit.

Runs hot, firmware is buggy!

By Robert

B&H was prompt in delivering the camera. Unfortunately, the camera has many issues. First, because of its more powerful processor, this camera runs HOT. After doing 20 minutes of video at the highest performance settings, I had to set the camera down and take the battery out because the whole device was hot. I also updated the firmware per GoPro's instructions. After completing the update, the camera continued to display a message saying it needed to be updated. I did a hard reset with GoPro tech support on the phone and performed the firmware update via SD card. The update message was still displaying for no reason even though the camera's software said it was the latest version. I jumped through hoops with GoPro for an hour (and their tech support is difficult to understand, I had to ask for a different person 3 times before I could understand them). No matter how many times I performed the fix actions tech support suggested, the camera still thinks it has old firmware. Finally, GoPro no longer develops a desktop app for this camera so you have to use their app on your phone for many functions. If I wanted to have my phone glued to my hand in order to use my camera, I would have just used my phone's camera.

Great tool for Pros and Amateurs alike

I work in TV/Media and my company has 2 of these that on the job were very easy to use. I finally got my own and I can't stress enough how easy it is to get great looking shots. Tons of customizable settings as well so if you looking for quick captures to throw on insta or even make full videos using a single cam this is a great tool that fits in your pocket. If you had old go pros that turned you away I urge you to give it another chance, the stabilization was a big big big key feature for me that changed my perspective on how useable this is.
