The refillable ballpoint pen deploys and retracts via an L-shaped switch midway down the pen's shaft. The same switch activates the LED light located on the pocket clip (you can use the light hands-free when clipped to your shirt pocket) and the green laser pointer located at the top of the pen. Simply unscrew the upper half of the pen, plug in the USB-C charging cable, charge for just under an hour, and you have a flashlight with a peak output of 120 lumens and a smooth-writing, refillable ballpoint pen. The upper half can be used separately as a very compact reading light. Refill cartridges are available for the pen, and one is included.
