A compact wide-angle prime, the Leica L-mount 24mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma provides excellent edge-to-edge sharpness in a stylish all-metal design. An ideal lens for landscape, nature, interior, and architectural photography, the lens provides a modestly bright f/2 maximum aperture for low-light performance and shallow depth of field control. Additionally, its fast maximum aperture makes it a natural choice for night sky and astrophotography. The lens is constructed of two SLD glass elements and one FLD glass element to correct axial chromatic aberration. The lens also incorporates two high-precision glass-molded aspherical elements, which enable the total weight of the lens to be reduced. In regard to handling and focus, this lens features a stepping motor for quick and quiet AF performance that suits both photo and video applications.
- L-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format

Sigma 24mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Reviews
Great lens
Best use of this lens for me: put in on the S1H for gimbal work. Looks great and not too heavy.
My Fifth I Series
Heavy duty metal construction, wonderful optics and fairly light in weight. My Sigma lenses are all in L Mount and I have never been disappointed. The Leica Alliance has made great photographs a lot more affordable to many more people. I now have a nice set of great lenses for about the same money I would have paid for one Leica lens. Breath taking images. Could not be happier.Worth every penny
Gem of a lens
Perfect size and balance on Leica SL2-s. The rendering has a bit of character and after just comparing to the newly released Sigma 20mm, it has less distortion and I think is sharper across the field. Almost no flare seen. There is some softness in the corners at f/2 as expected. Micro contrast is not as high as so Leica lenses but a tenth the price! Build quality is excellent with metal construction and not to heavy. The placement of the focus and aperture rings seems just right and work well with gloves on. One minor disappointment is that the included magnetic lens cover (you get both a plastic snap on and metal magnetic) does not work if you have any filter on the front of the lens (uv, polarizer, ND etc). So far have never used the magnetic cover for that reason - I have tried all the Sigma contemporary dg dn lenses and this is my favorite and most useful for the way I shot (mostly landscape). Great size for hiking too.
Some character
lens has nice character on sharp sony sensors. slightly warm rendering. really fun wide angle lens.
This is a gem !
I have a Zeiss 18mm f2.8 and the Sony FE 35mm f1.8 but needed something in the 24mm focal range. Really wanted the Sony FE 24mm f1.4 the the price was just to high for me. When Sigma announced the 24mm f2 and I saw the price it piqued my interest and after reading and watching some of the reviews by Christopher Frost and Dustin Abbott I decided to pull the trigger and get it. This thing exudes quality, reminds me of some of my Vintage lenses, no cheap plastic on this lens, even has a metal lens hood. It's a joy to use and it's SHARP, very happy. PS I tried to upload some images but was unsuccessful. don't know it the files are to large or what. You can check my flickr account for photos. Robert ' Flickr
Highly functional quality build
It's wide enough to get group shots, and sharp enough to crop in for close ups (using a7c). It's also been bright enough for indoor video and outside in afternoon shade. My primary uses are (1) high quality video for meetings (2) family pictures and video.
Great all day lens
Solid, light weight, excellent for landscape and street photography. Great size-can carry around all day without tiring. Sharp from f/2.8 on up. Softness at 2.0 that creates a dreamy look. Excellent metal build and classy magnetic lens cap. Terrific lens at a good price.
An amazing addition to my kit
I have a Sigma FP and of course I ordered it with the 45mm originally. I tried a few other lenses before settling on the new Sigma 24mm Contemporary. I'm so glad I did! This lens is tack sharp from f2.8 and above and at f2 there's just the slightest softness, but barely noticeable. There's no vignetting at all on full frame. I've exercised this lens extensively in low light as well and it performs beautifully! Examples on YouTube/floridaambient
