Audio engineers in search of a flexible multiband compressor should check out the Harrison Consoles AVA Spectral Compressor, a cross-platform software plug-in that applies compression selectively across 18 frequency bands, well suited for use in high-end music, film, broadcast, and video postproduction.
AVA Spectral Compressor's 18 frequency bands can be spread across the full audio spectrum or focused on a specific frequency range for more precise control. The plug-in works with Mac and Windows computers and is compatible with most DAW operating with AAX, VST, VST3, and AU formats.

Frequency Range
The Frequency Range section allows you to select the specific frequency range that gets processed by the compressor. The 18 compressor bands will be distributed across whatever range is selected. For example, with Mid selected, all 18 bands will be focused on the Mid range, allowing for more precise control over the frequencies within that range.
- Full Range: 16 Hz to 20 kHz
- High: 3 kHz to 20 kHz
- High Mid: 200 Hz to 18 kHz
- Mid: 180 Hz to 7 kHz
- Low Mid: 12 Hz to 8 kHz
- Low: 15 Hz to 500 Hz
