Silicon Power 512GB CFexpress Type B Overview

By B&H Photo's

Designed to deliver demanding performance for photographers and videographers, the 512GB Cinema EX CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card from Silicon Power takes advantage of the PCIe 3.0 x2 / NVMe 1.3 interface to provide read speeds of up to 1700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1500 MB/s, which allows it to record cinema-quality 8K video at high frame rates and bitrates, as well as raw and continuous-burst still photos. This card's performance is maintained by a dynamic SLC cache, which helps maintain its sustained read/write performance.

General Features
Harness the Full Potential with CFexpress
The Cinema EX utilizes CFexpress 2.0 technology to deliver fast performance for the most demanding professional photographers and videographers. Its read and write speeds are both more than 3 times faster than CFast 2.0 media, leveraging the maximum performance of high-end digital film cameras. And with a storage capacity of 512GB, it provides longer, uninterrupted shooting sessions.
Write Speeds That Reach Unparalleled Levels
With its PCIe 3.0 x2 interface, as well as support for NVMe 1.3, the Cinema EX boasts extreme recording speeds up to 1500 MB/s for flawless cinema-quality video capture, including 8K at high frame rates and bitrates. It also supports raw continuous-burst shooting without delay, so you won't miss a frame during those critical split-second moments.
Technology That Maximizes Performance
The Cinema EX is more than just impressive speeds. To keep up with the pace that professionals demand, dynamic SLC Cache firmware works to provide optimal read/write sustained performance, while SmartRefresh technology works to maintain high read performance over time.
Technology for Endurance and Stability
A card's ability to keep data safe is just as important as its ability to record it. An LDPC ECC engine and Block/Page RAID function with 3D NAND guarantees 3K PE cycles for enhanced endurance. SmartFlush power-shielding firmware protects data during unstable conditions.

Silicon Power 512GB CFexpress Type B Reviews

Works with my Z9 and Z8

I just got back from a two-week trip along Route 66 and this card worked just fine in my Nikon Z9 and Z8. Because of the supposed incompatibility, I put it in Slot 2 of my Z9 as a backup only, and to copy each day's shots from my 256GB main CFe card. No issues at all. I had the latest firmware for both cameras.

Cost effective and plenty fast enough

Works Great With my Nikon D850Z6 II/Z7, Panasonic GH6 & S1

Some conflicting reviews about using with the Nikon Z9 and D850 - can't speak about the former, but mine worked great with a D850. No issues at all with the Nikon Z6II or Z7, along with the Panny GH6 and S1. (and an S1R I borrowed). No problems with the high-quality video from the S1 or S1R or GH6. I also have a number of Silicon Power CFast 2.0 cards I use with Blackmagic (BMPCC 4k & 6K Pro, BM Ursa Mini Pro 12K) as well as the RED Komodo. No issues! It seems like most of the issues are with Canon R5.

outstanding performance for the price

Use it on my D850 (with a firmware upgrade) and more recently on my Z9 and have never missed a beat (or a shot). Excellent value.

I bought 2 to use with my Nikon Z9 and turned them into Silicon Power for RMA as I assumed they were broken. They received the cards 2 weeks ago and haven't written back, refunded, or returned my cards. I'm out 800$ and I can't afford to replace them!!!

Will this card work with a BMD Pocket Cinema 6k Pro?
Asked by: Frank
You cannot use the Silicon Power 1TB Cinema EX CFexpress 2.0 Type B Memory Card or any CFexpress 2.0 Type B in the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro. This camera has memory card lots for SDXC (UHS-II) and CFast cards. Angelbird 1TB AV Pro CF CFast 2.0 Memory Card is a good option. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3iSp1Mv
