Good lens to look at that will offer you a 1:1 life-size maximum magnification. we usually suggest 60mm and 100 Marco but the 40mm will do the job.

The TTArtisan 40mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Canon RF will fit and work as a manual lens on the Canon R5. But it is for a crop APS-C size sensor. So it will vignette the image.

Is there significant chromatic aberration at the closest focus distances, and is it sharp corner-to-corner?
Asked by: J. C.
This is sharp certainly for the price range corner to corner provided what is in frame is all on the same plane. The lens is coated and you should not have aberration provided you are focused on the closest subject and it will be sharp as long as it is not closer than the minimum focus distance.

I bought this lens to use with my Canon R5. I can focus with no problem, but the shutter does not engage. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the lens?
Asked by: Gail
You would need to set the Canon R5 in the menu to release shutter w/o lens. It is shown here in the manual where it is. It is in the bottom of this page. https://cam.start.canon/en/C003/manual/html/UG-08_Custom_0030.html
