A leap forward in professional-quality aerial imaging, the Mavic 3 from DJI is their flagship drone that offers a dual-camera setup in a 3-axis gimbal. There's the 20MP wide-angle camera with 4/3" CMOS from legendary camera maker Hasselblad and a 12MP telephoto with 1/2" CMOS, 4K video, and 28x hybrid zoom. You can utilize the telephoto in Explore Mode to scout locations, but its primary function is to be used in conjunction with the wide-angle Hasselblad, transitioning between the two for truly dynamic, cinematic results.

The video quality of the wide-angle Hasselblad on the Mavic 3 offers up to 5.1K resolution and DCI 4K at 120 fps. The 12.8 stops of dynamic range and an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11 open up the drone's ability to handle nearly any lighting condition and deliver low-light footage with less noise. Add in vision sensor-based VDAF focusing and an 84° FOV, and you can capture sweeping, atmospheric shots or track and focus on subjects with ease. To complete the Mavic 3's powerful imaging abilities, 10-bit D-Log Color Profile and Hasselblad's NCS (Natural Color Solution) are employed for natural and accurate color reproduction.

To support these exceptional imaging capabilities and the pilots who will capture them, DJI packed the Mavic 3 with technologies to get the most out of each shoot. Multiple features allow you to create flight paths, auto-track subjects, and perform complex aerial maneuvers with a tap. While doing all of this, an omnidirectional obstacle sensing system and APAS 5.0 work to ensure a collision-free flight. Add in up to 46 minutes of flight time, a transmission range of up to 9.3 miles, and a folding design, and you have a powerful platform that's ideal for everything from tech-obsessed amateur photographers to professional production houses.

Hasselblad Natural Color Solution

The result of Hasselblad's many decades of experience, the HNCS starts from the pixel level of the sensor. Every pixel is calibrated with RGB color data being passed through an image processing algorithm and color processing mode while filming. The result is content containing precise and natural color reproduction, all without the need for color presets.

Advanced RTH

A great day in the air filming your latest passion project is only complete when the Mavic 3 comes back safe and sound. DJI's Advanced RTH (Return to Home) feature is designed to ensure that happens on every flight. Returning to its starting point can be triggered by you or if there is a signal loss. On its way back, the Mavic 3 plots the optimal route home, avoiding obstacles along the way.

Live View

When piloting with the included RC-N1 remote and your compatible smartphone, the Mavic 3 can live stream the camera's view back to you at up to 1080p60 resolution. This not only lets you proof footage at Full HD quality, but it also assists with more responsive control of the drone.

Extreme Precision Positioning

The Mavic 3 is engineered to hold its position in the air extremely steadily, benefiting pilots trying to take clean long-exposure or time-lapse shots.

DJI Mavic 3 Reviews

Pretty good

Background info: I've been flying since 2016/2017 and have had the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, and Mini 2. I have to say that the Mavic 3 is a great drone. The image quality is great, working on the files in LR is so much better. No more cringing because of dynamic range or color issues. I have had some Moire in certain instances for architecture, but my big cameras do too sometimes. The stabilization is excellent, and the panos work excellent; no more blurry frames from taking images as the gimbal moves around. Battery life is surreal and really nice to have the extra time. The power on this drone is awesome, it makes for getting to places and up to altitude super enjoyable. I've peaked at 48mph with the wind. The drone is super quiet considering the power, and it even has lights on the bottom; yes lights, no review or article has mentioned that. They auto turnon at night when landing/take off, or you can manually turn them on; it was a nice surprise. the virtually 360 sensors are much nicer, and I really like the gimbal cover, and build of the drone. I',m glad that I waited for this vs the Mavic 2 Pro (28mm), its a very nice upgrade from the Phantom 4 Pro; though if I still have my Phantom 4 Pro I would likely still be using that. I like the 24mm focal length on the Mavic 3, although the 4:3 aspect for stills is a little weird since most images nowadays are 2:3 so you do have to think about that while framing. But overall I really enjoy flying this drone.

I am very much enjoying my Mavic 3 Fly More Combo! I'm still getting used to it, leaning the new features. It's a very impressive drone, especially the new larger camera sensor. I have another Mavic 2 Pro and it's a very good drone also.

Loving this drone ... now

There were certainly issues at first but the firmware has now caught up. GPS is working. Images and video are everything I had hoped for (and are the features I most bought this drone for). Don't forget, you need your Part 107 to do anything useful with your drone, not just to earn money with it.

Phenomenal Connectivity, Reliability, and Control, but....

I have had the original Mavic, Mavic 2 Pro, and now the Mavic 3. I have been very impressed with each generation and this one definitely has marked improvements, however, the image quality leaves much to be desired. First, the pros: Connectivity. I have flown about 2 hours and never lost the signal once. I did get the RC Pro and love the screen, but the consistent reliability is awesome. I have had it over 2,000 ft away and did not even have the signal bar decrease at all. I could have gone further very easily, but I would have lost sight of it. Flight - very smooth. I have had a few wind warnings with gusts up to 30mph, but it flew just fine. Video - I am not a pro video guy, but I like what it can do for the family stuff I use it for. Cons: Picture/Stills - I love the manual options and control this time around. I love the features and the quickness of processing over prior generations, but it's the sharpness of the images. I have played with f-stops, shutter speed, ISO.....but I find almost all the images just a little soft. There is an improvement from 4-6.1f but 2.8 almost always produces no image I would be able to sell as a print. I am not crazy about the other f-stops either. I have read that some users have had a similar issue and returned their machines and have had better luck. I think I waited too long to really look into this as I was hoping for a firmware update or if I was missing a setting. Overall: I love the machine just as a sheer gadget. I wouldn't have spent the money on this and sold the Mavic 2 Pro if I knew that this was the quality of image I was going to get....but it is a lot more fun to fly.

Nice combo package. Having the hard case is far better than the backpack.

Amazing Images in small form-factor

As a person who switched from a phantom 4 pro to the new Mavic 3, I can truly say I am impressed. This little drone is amazing. Great image out of the Hasselblad sensor. There is PLENTY of information in the H.265 codec. In my opinion, you don't need that ProRes codec that the Cine model has unless your workflow just absolutely demands it. Save your money and buy this standard Mavic 3.

Great battery and image quality

We bought this to cover a live feed for a kayaking competition. We'll continue to use it as part of our fleet for projects that require aerial images and video. Battery life is phenomenal! There was another crew with an Inspire 2 (which we normally would have flown) doing event footage. They went through 3 sets of batteries for every one of ours! Image quality is also excellent. It was so nice being able to hook up a mini HDMI to the controller to get a clean HDMI feed for the broadcast. (Make sure you get a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter!) The APAS system is a little hard to get used to! It really will just fly around stuff on its own which can be unnerving if you've ever crashed another drone. We had one line where we were out of position and a tree was hanging into the river on the left. The Mavic 3 just went around and we didn't lose our $5000 investment! I wish the focal length was a little closer to 35mm so shots don't look like every other aerial out there. Since the sensor is 5.1K, you can zoom a bit to make up for it and still capture a nice 4K image. If we had another two batteries (five total) and dedicated charger, we could have flown all day with breaks only to swap batteries.

It's the best
