A leap forward in professional-quality aerial imaging, the Mavic 3 from DJI is their flagship drone that offers a dual-camera setup in a 3-axis gimbal. There's the 20MP wide-angle camera with 4/3" CMOS from legendary camera maker Hasselblad and a 12MP telephoto with 1/2" CMOS, 4K video, and 28x hybrid zoom. You can utilize the telephoto in Explore Mode to scout locations, but its primary function is to be used in conjunction with the wide-angle Hasselblad, transitioning between the two for truly dynamic, cinematic results.

The video quality of the wide-angle Hasselblad on the Mavic 3 offers up to 5.1K resolution and DCI 4K at 120 fps. The 12.8 stops of dynamic range and an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11 open up the drone's ability to handle nearly any lighting condition and deliver low-light footage with less noise. Add in vision sensor-based VDAF focusing and an 84° FOV, and you can capture sweeping, atmospheric shots or track and focus on subjects with ease. To complete the Mavic 3's powerful imaging abilities, 10-bit D-Log Color Profile and Hasselblad's NCS (Natural Color Solution) are employed for natural and accurate color reproduction.

To support these exceptional imaging capabilities and the pilots who will capture them, DJI packed the Mavic 3 with technologies to get the most out of each shoot. Multiple features allow you to create flight paths, auto-track subjects, and perform complex aerial maneuvers with a tap. While doing all of this, an omnidirectional obstacle sensing system and APAS 5.0 work to ensure a collision-free flight. Add in up to 46 minutes of flight time, a transmission range of up to 9.3 miles, and a folding design, and you have a powerful platform that's ideal for everything from tech-obsessed amateur photographers to professional production houses.

Hasselblad Natural Color Solution

The result of Hasselblad's many decades of experience, the HNCS starts from the pixel level of the sensor. Every pixel is calibrated with RGB color data being passed through an image processing algorithm and color processing mode while filming. The result is content containing precise and natural color reproduction, all without the need for color presets.

Advanced RTH

A great day in the air filming your latest passion project is only complete when the Mavic 3 comes back safe and sound. DJI's Advanced RTH (Return to Home) feature is designed to ensure that happens on every flight. Returning to its starting point can be triggered by you or if there is a signal loss. On its way back, the Mavic 3 plots the optimal route home, avoiding obstacles along the way.

Live View

When piloting with the included RC-N1 remote and your compatible smartphone, the Mavic 3 can live stream the camera's view back to you at up to 1080p60 resolution. This not only lets you proof footage at Full HD quality, but it also assists with more responsive control of the drone.

Extreme Precision Positioning

The Mavic 3 is engineered to hold its position in the air extremely steadily, benefiting pilots trying to take clean long-exposure or time-lapse shots.

Great system to do professional drone work quickly

Skeptical of the price

I already had the 2 Pro, which I loved. Already have the mini 2, so small I took everywhere. Already had a drone case. I wasn't into it. They had a pretty good deal at $3890 with the smart controller and drone, so I figured I'd give it a go. I'm so happy I did. This has been my favorite drone by far. So easy to fly. Great range. Feels good. The strap is nice on the drone and keeps it contained. The video quality is fantastic. The controller is way better than looking on a phone. I think this version is discontinued, but if you find the drone with the controller, you might save some money and it's totally worth it. I love this drone and I have barely taken advantage of all of it's features. It goes everywhere with me. Also, the bag is totally legit. First DJI bag fully worth the space and that I haven't sold.

I really wanted to like this drone

I have owned 4 different DJI drones (Phantom 3, Phantom 4, Phantom 4 pro and Mavic 2 Pro). Every new drone from DJI had a major upgrade in image quality. I was really disappointed realizing that the image quality of the Mavic 3 doesn't justify the $3,000 USD price tag. The image it's soft and looks very similar to the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Air 2s or even worse. Do yourself a favor and wait until this drone it's 100% finished and they release the Mavic 3 Pro. The DJI FLY app is also really bad compared to the DJI GO APP used for the old Mavic's if you want to use them for professional use. Get yourself a Mavic Air 2S or hold on into your Mavic 2 Pro.

Background info: I've been flying since 2016/2017 and have had the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, and Mini 2. I have to say that the Mavic 3 is a great drone. The image quality is great, working on the files in LR is so much better. No more cringing because of dynamic range or color issues. I have had some Moire in certain instances for architecture, but my big cameras do too sometimes. The stabilization is excellent, and the panos work excellent; no more blurry frames from taking images as the gimbal moves around. Battery life is surreal and really nice to have the extra time. The power on this drone is awesome, it makes for getting to places and up to altitude super enjoyable. I've peaked at 48mph with the wind. The drone is super quiet considering the power, and it even has lights on the bottom; yes lights, no review or article has mentioned that. They auto turnon at night when landing/take off, or you can manually turn them on; it was a nice surprise. the virtually 360 sensors are much nicer, and I really like the gimbal cover, and build of the drone. I',m glad that I waited for this vs the Mavic 2 Pro (28mm), its a very nice upgrade from the Phantom 4 Pro; though if I still have my Phantom 4 Pro I would likely still be using that. I like the 24mm focal length on the Mavic 3, although the 4:3 aspect for stills is a little weird since most images nowadays are 2:3 so you do have to think about that while framing. But overall I really enjoy flying this drone.

Great battery and image quality

We bought this to cover a live feed for a kayaking competition. We'll continue to use it as part of our fleet for projects that require aerial images and video. Battery life is phenomenal! There was another crew with an Inspire 2 (which we normally would have flown) doing event footage. They went through 3 sets of batteries for every one of ours! Image quality is also excellent. It was so nice being able to hook up a mini HDMI to the controller to get a clean HDMI feed for the broadcast. (Make sure you get a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter!) The APAS system is a little hard to get used to! It really will just fly around stuff on its own which can be unnerving if you've ever crashed another drone. We had one line where we were out of position and a tree was hanging into the river on the left. The Mavic 3 just went around and we didn't lose our $5000 investment! I wish the focal length was a little closer to 35mm so shots don't look like every other aerial out there. Since the sensor is 5.1K, you can zoom a bit to make up for it and still capture a nice 4K image. If we had another two batteries (five total) and dedicated charger, we could have flown all day with breaks only to swap batteries.

It's the best

Wow, Great improvement by DJI . RC controller is awesome choice. Gimbal Angeles have better views. 5.1 K with 50fps makes this drone into professional level.

Impressed.

I believe the Mavic 3 marks a new era for prosumer drones as a whole. The larger sensor size really does make a visible difference in the quality of my images and videos, and the tele camera (though not perfect) is a very welcome addition in my opinion. My only issues with this drone so far is not having some features I was used to on my Phantom 4 Pro. Specifically, being able to set my point of interest using the GPS is a feature I miss a lot, and not having true waypoints is a bit of a bummer. I also don't love the fact that I can't automate my flights using a 3rd party app like Drone Deploy. Another small gripe I have with this drone is its responsiveness when it comes to my custom buttons on the controller. My custom buttons seem to lag when pressing them and executing the function. For example, I press the custom function button (which is paired to tilting the gimbal forward or directly downward), and maybe 3 seconds later the gimbal moves forward or downward. Same behavior when I double press the custom button (set to switch between the main camera and tele camera). It takes just a bit too long for my liking. I very much so enjoy the 3 batteries the fly more bundle comes with, as well as the bag it comes with. Everything fits perfectly in it, and there's even a little more room for other things I like to keep with my drone like my part 107 license and SD card case Overall, great product, and I am very impressed.
