Ideal for a wide range of photo and video applications including landscapes, portraits, street photography, architecture, and events, the 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is a small, light, and bright standard zoom for crop-sensor mirrorless cameras. Offered here with a Leica L-mount, this lens provides a versatile full-frame equivalent zoom range of 27-75mm and a wide constant aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range. The lens design includes three high-precision glass-molded aspherical elements coupled with a special low dispersion element. Together they minimize the total number of elements for superb optical quality without excessive weight. Autofocus is exceptionally fast and quiet thanks to the lens's stepping motor, which can be particularly useful when shooting video or fast-moving subjects such as children and animals. An ultimate workhorse, the lens features a minimum focusing distance of just 4.8", enabling it to be used for macro-style close-up photography, and the lens is also outfitted with a rounded seven-blade diaphragm for a pleasing bokeh quality.

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Reviews
Perfection!
This lens is well made, compact, sharp and has fantastic images. I switched over from sony full frame and wanted a small lens for my a6600. This lens is very small and lightweight. I cant say enough good things about it. The AF is also very fast. I highly recommend.
Perfect standard f/2.8 zoom for the Sony A6700
This is my everyday compact zoom for my new Sony A6700. I’m a full frame Sony user mainly for pro work, but needed a cheaper set up for everyday fun stuff. This tiny zoom plus my stellar Tamron 11-20 f/2.8 Di III-A RXD are an APSC match made in heaven. This lens has great IQ with the new BSI 26mp sensor. For the money, you can’t get any better then this Sigma.
A Good and Compact Lens
Having already had this lens for Fujifilm X cameras, I decided to buy it for my new Sony A6700. Overall it provides the same benefits as on Fujifilm, i.e. compact, light, and sharp. It is also nice having the same f/2.8 aperture across all focal lengths. If having a light kit is important to you then I highly recommend it. I wish it was a little wider like 16mm but there are always primes for that.
Great crop sensor lens!
It's a great quality lens for the price, size, weight, and performance!
A disappointment
Bought this for my back-up camera and waited too long to test it and so lost the opportunity to return. Grainy, not sharp....no comparison to my Canon lens. I guess you get what you pay for....
Recommend lens .
This lens is awesome . It's size and weight is portability and light. A go to lens for landscape, portrait as well as street photography. At f2.8 it can handle low light situations . Picture and videos are unbelievably sharp. Auto focus is smooth . Bokeh separates it's subject and background beautifully. recommended . Using this on my ZVE10 . It's just perfect for travel .
Great lens!
This is the first lens I have ever used, and I’m very happy with it. I was deciding between this one and the Tamron 17-70, and I am glad I chose this. It’s a nice small size, and everything that I need as a beginner. I’m seeing that I would enjoy extra zoom range in the future, but I’d be happy to get a specific lens for those ranges. All around great and affordable lens!
Best walk around zoom lens
I'm so impressed with this small, light, bright, and sharp zoom lens. I prefer it to the Fuji Zoom offerings. The image quality is on par with the Fuji 16 x 55 f2.8 and is much better than the Fuji 16 x 80 f4. I like the faster aperture on the Sigma compared to the Fuji 18 x 55 - all for a better price.
