Built to print wide 2.4 x 3.9" images, the ash white INSTAX Link Wide Smartphone Printer from FUJIFILM lets you capture more of the moment and features a sleek and compact form factor and Bluetooth connectivity. Its downloadable app will allow users to customize, edit, and print photos in the JPEG, PNG, HEIF, and DNG formats. Available editing tools include cropping, filters, collages, and the ability to add text. Users will also have access to 100 types of stickers and 1500 different emojis. 30 available templates may be edited in terms of color, text content, color, font position, size, while the overall print quality may be varied with "INSTAX-Rich" or "INSTAX-Natural" modes. Another unique feature is QR Print Mode, which prints a QR code on your photo that may be linked to an audio message, a web page, text, an invitation, and more.

FUJIFILM's INSTAX Link Wide Smartphone Printer is powered using an internal lithium-ion battery that can print up 100 images when fully charged. Recharging takes 80-120 minutes, depending on the temperature and remaining battery level. Included is an 11.8" USB cable, a stand, and a strap.

Probably not for those who are serious about image quality

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a long-time shooter of Instax film and use the Mini 90, SQ6 and Wide 200 cameras regularly for both work and fun. I love the Instax film look and always search for conditions that will help achieve its full potential. Short of adapting large format cameras to use better glass and exposure control, the Link printer seemed like the easiest approach to upping my game, since it allowed me to get images made with other analog or digital gear and tailor them for perfect results. Unfortunately, the prints are at best as sharp as the ones made by a cheap Instax camera, and at worst lack resolution and may present slightly darker stripes or banding artifacts, usually at the bottom of the image close to the thickest white border (I did a little research and found that this is a common complaint, so I don't believe it's a fault of my specific copy). In my experience, a mediocre print can be improved significantly just by editing the digital image (basic things like contrast, color and brightness), which the bluetooth app can do well enough; however, you will likely waste a couple of photos (which are not cheap) fine tuning it. The upside is that the result is very repeatable and fairly predictable, but it is definitely not a substitute for even the quirkiest analog Instax camera in terms of image quality.

Cannot Print from Cameras - Android/iOS Only

This is a great little printer if you're only printing from your phone (most people). It's relatively small and thin so very easy to carry with you. The battery lasts forever and is easy to charge with any USB charger. The film can be a little expensive so buy in bulk (plan for about $0.75 to $1.00 per shot. The Wide format in particular is my favorite because it's versatile (similar shape to a 4x6) and relatively large for an Instax film. Because photos can be edited on your phone before printing, and because your photos can come from any camera, including nice DSLRs/Mirrorless, the photos you can print are much higher quality than what you get from the Instax cameras. This really shows how great the Instax prints can look given the right setup. Bottom Line: A very fun printer that is worth every penny. Just remember you CANNOT print from Fuji Cameras like you could with the SP-1, SP-2 and SP-3.

I have an instax 300 wide camera and just recently bought the instax mini 90. I wish I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of Polaroids. You hang em on your walls, you give them to friends. Vintage is so cute. But- so impractical. I never use my instax cameras. This is 2022! We use our phones and we always have them with us. It's a waste to buy a camera you're not going to want to have with you every second. So this- this my friends- is the answer to all your hopes and dreams (Well maybe not the big, life hopes and dreams- just vintage polaroid dreams). You go on your adventures- you hike through forests, you roadtrip with friends, you go to grocery stores (now you're livin'!), and you're capturing every moment with your phone. Then you come back home, chose your favorites, wait a few seconds, and now it's in your hand, or on your walls. In my opinion, that's the way to do it.

I'd had one of the early SP-2 Install printers and everything that was goofy or poorly designed in the earlier models have been fixed in this one. First of all the big prints are great, but the image quality is improved as well. the use of linking your phone via bluetooth is also a much easier way to connect. All in all a great choice, no complaints!

Image quality lacking

There is no substitution for taking instant picture with an instant camera. The quality of fake instant images simply doesn't hold up. It may look good on youtube but in real life, take legit instant photos with a legit instant camera otherwise you are gambling with the results.

I bought two of these for granddaughters. One of them traveled with us to Australia over Christmas. She used this printer every day. It was easy for her to add text to her photos. We ended up buying more film in Australia because she was printing so much.

Easy to use. Works well with iPhone. The photos develops quickly. The quality looks pretty close to how it looks from your camera phone. I love the nostalgic feel. I think it's cool to have if you want to have some printed images for keepsake.

Is there software to enable printing from a desktop computer?

It's not possible to print directly from a desktop computer. However, it's possible to print from a tablet. You can connect the tablet to a desktop computer and drag files over to the tablet for opening and printing from the Instax app. I've done this with an inexpensive Android tablet connected to my Windows PC.

Can you print a square format pic and trim off the extra or does the app stretch/crop or force a rectangular format?

One should not cut Instax Film from the FUJIFILM INSTAX Link Wide Smartphone Printer (Mocha Gray). There are chemicals in the Instax Film and cutting will cause deterioration to the print. So, while you can print square, I would not cut off the excess.
