The 14.2" Liquid Retina XDR display features a 3024 x 1964 resolution, 1,000 nits of sustained brightness, 1,600 nits of peak brightness, P3 color gamut support, and more. Designed for All Types of Creatives

Apple M1 Max

Packed with 57 billion transistors, the Apple M1 Max integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Built with 5nm process technology, the Apple M1 Pro delivers the performance you need without sacrificing power efficiency. The 10-Core CPU features eight performance cores and two high-efficiency cores. The 16-Core Neural Engine provides support for on-device machine learning acceleration and improved camera performance. The M1 Pro offers up to 400 GB/s of memory bandwidth as well as support for up to 64GB of unified memory. The efficient architecture of M1 Pro means they deliver the same level of performance whether MacBook Pro is plugged in or using the battery. With up to a 32-Core GPU, the M1 Max can provide up to four times faster GPU performance than the M1. M1 Max also offers an enhanced media engine that features two ProRes accelerators for even higher multi-stream performance. As a result, professionals can edit up to 30 streams of 4K ProRes video or up to seven streams of 8K ProRes video in Final Cut Pro. Video editors can even grade color in HDR on 8K ProRes 4444 video while on battery.

14.2" Liquid Retina XDR Display

Featuring mini-LED technology, this MacBook Pro houses a 14.2" Liquid Retina XDR display. Delivering up to 1,000 nits of sustained, full-screen brightness, a high 1,600 nits of peak brightness, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a billion colors, the Liquid Retina XDR display can handle the extreme dynamic range of HDR content, providing detailed shadows, brilliant specular highlights, deeper blacks, and vivid colors. The display is less than 4 mm thin, which is achieved by having seven films and diffusers that mix and shape the light efficiently. The oxide thin film transistor (TFT) allows pixels to charge twice as fast as before.

ProMotion - Up to 120 Hz Refresh Rate

With ProMotion technology, the MacBook Pro automatically varies the refresh rate to match the motion of your onscreen content. This helps preserve battery life while also making tasks feel more fluid and responsive. This means that the display can have up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. Video editors will also have the option to lock in a refresh rate that is optimal for their footage.

P3 Wide Color Gamut

The narrow-band LED-powered backlight allows the MacBook Pro to represent the P3 wide color gamut for brilliant, true-to-life color in photos and videos.

Storage - Bring Your Whole Studio with You

The MacBook Pro can be configured with up to 8TB of SSD storage so you can take your photo or video libraries with you no matter where you're headed. And with superfast speeds, massive files load in an instant and pro apps launch in a blink. This particular model comes with a 512GB SSD.

Connectivity

Thunderbolt 4

Thunderbolt 4 combines ultra-high bandwidth with the versatility of the USB Type-C industry standard to create one revved-up universal port. It integrates data transfer, charging, and video output in a single connector, delivering up to 40 Gb/s of throughput for twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2. The MacBook Pro is equipped with three ports, so you can do all of that from either side. Existing devices are easily connected with a cable or adapter. And Thunderbolt 4 is reversible, so no matter how you plug in, it's always right side up.

MagSafe 3

MagSafe 3 makes connecting a power cable quick and easy while also protecting your MacBook Pro. Apple also brings fast charging to the MacBook Pro, allowing you to charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.

High-Fidelity Audio

Spatial Sound Speakers and Better Mics

The MacBook Pro features a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system, which has two tweeters for a clearer soundstage as well as four force-cancelling woofers, resulting in 80 percent more bass. The sound system also supports spatial audio, providing a three-dimensional audio experience, whether you're listening to music or watching a movie in Dolby Atmos. Apple also has studio microphones that have a lower noise floor, resulting in clear calls as well as voice recordings.

FaceTime

Full HD 1080p FaceTime HD Camera

Now with a Full HD 1080p FaceTime HD camera, the MacBook Pro uses the ISP and Neural Engine in M1 Pro and M1 Max for computational video that enhances video quality.

System Navigation

Keyboard

Physical function keys are back with the Magic Keyboard on the MacBook Pro. Replacing the Touch Bar, the familiar, tactile function keys have made their return. There is even a wider ESC key.

Touch ID

The Touch ID enables fast, easy authentication for secure logins and purchases.

Force Touch Trackpad

Speed your workflow with Force click and multi-touch gestures.

All-Day Battery Life

Battery

From pro workflows to everyday tasks, the MacBook Pro delivers power efficiency while still maintaining performance. The MacBook Pro can deliver up to 17 hours of video playback.

Perfect combo of 32g/1tb on a new machine at a great price. Looked long and hard for a couple of months for that winning combo of power and storage.

Best Laptop I've owned.

The M1 Max Chip is a beast. I do a lot of video and photo editing and now I can do all of this on the go. I rarely hear the fans turn on when using it, unless I am playing a game on the laptop and it's not at all that noisy. The keyboard feels outstanding and the speakers are one of the best I've heard on a laptop. The battery life is also why I picked this laptop. I see myself taking it to school and lasting all day and then still have a good amount of charge at the end of the day. The laptop overall just feels very well made.

A worthy upgrade

For a little context, I'm a motion graphics animator and storyboard artist. I upgraded from a 2019 MacBook Pro 15 with a 2.3 GHz 80Core Intel Core i9 Processor, 16 GB RAM, a Radeon Pro 560x 4GB graphics card. I'm kinda upset that computer started to get outran by the demands of my job. My clients are demanding 4k videos regularly, and that was causing my MacBook Pro to crumble to its knees and crawl at a snail's pace. Illustrating was fine, but I was starting to go crazy waiting ages for my computer to RAM preview 2 seconds of playback in Adobe Ae. This new MacBook Pro with the M1 Max Chip is a beast. It's fast as heck, no stupid touchbar, useful ports, the return of the MagSafe power adapter, and a better keyboard. I'm currently stretching its legs on an After Effects project similar to one that would have had the 2019 MacBook choking and struggling to playback anything. So far things are running very smoothly. It takes so little time to RAM preview animations with lots of moving parts. Rendering is super fast. Everything is just so dern fast! I have also noticed a drastic drop in how often Ae crashes. I don't want to get my hopes up, but no crashes so far. Tons of plugins open, bouncing things from figma, Xd, and Ai to Ae. There are multiple apps open, and I have my iPad connected with Sidecar. This thing is still asking for more. I think it'll take a while before I reach the limits of this machine. Another thing, I always had issues with Sidecar staying connected with my old MacBook Pro. It has held a strong connection the whole time with this new one. That brings me to my one gripe with this computer. I wish it still had the 15 display the 2019 one had. Thankfully I have an iPad to extend my display. The battery seems much stronger. There were times with my 2019 MacBook where I would have to dim my screen and unplug my speakers in order to get the battery to not die and charge while plugged in. Not with this new one. Driving studio monitors, charging a phone, connected to the iPad, full work load, and this holds a consistent power level while plugged in. The display is great. It has already paid for itself.

This is the fastest computer I've ever had. It handles everything very well. 8k video editing. Photo editing. And even some light gaming. The price is high, but the value is unmatched.

My MacBook is essential to my business. When my 5.5 year old MacBook couldn't handle my newest software update I needed a new one fast. Normally I order from Apple but they had a two month wait time. I found this MacBook in stock at B&H. I ordered it on Sunday and it was at my house on Wednesday! I appreciate the fast shipping! It works exactly as I would expect the newest MacBook to work. The display is beautiful and it has plenty of RAM and the needed video card in the M1max chip to run my software beautifully!

My ideal laptop

This was the machine that I wanted to buy three years ago but the graphics performance wasn't there with the integrated graphics in the 13 model. This model with the M1 Max chip is just what I needed to balance portability against my 3d modeling needs. The upgrades across this model are excellent. I am thrilled with the machine.
