Does it have memory (focus point recall) function?
Asked by: Todd
Staff member Stephen's Nov. 1, 2021 reply needs to be updated as it is now obsolete (wrong) due to recent firmware updates to Z cameras. For the Z7 (which I own), a new addendum to the latest firmware says this: "You can save the current focus position by assigning 'Save focus position' to 'Lens Fn button' and then pressing and holding the lens 'Fn' button. The saved position can be instantly restored by assigning 'Recall focus position' to 'Lens Fn2 button' and pressing the lens 'Fn2' button (memory recall)." I have programmed my Z7 this way and with my 100-400 lens I have verified it works as described.

Since no lens case is included, does anybody have a recommendation for a 3rd party case ideally with a shoulder strap?
Asked by: Carol
I found the LowePro Lens Case 11x26 to be a great fit. Although the interior diameter is a little snug with both the reversed lens hood and the Kirk LP-70 Lens Foot attached, the vertical fit is perfect. To me, the snug diameter was preferable to the vertical gap the 13x32 leaves. If you store the lens with the foot but without the hood the fit is perfect.

How does it compare to 70-200 2.8s with 2x teleconverter( which translates to 140-400 5.6)?
Asked by: Pawel
The performance of the 70-200 f/2.8 with the 2X teleconverter is excellent. It honestly depends on the type of photography you're doing. The autofocus is pretty fast and not limited like it used to be with these 2X extenders. The image quality is a little softer than using the 70-200 without a converter but that's normal. If you find yourself needing the long range consistently, it's a better choice to just buy the 100-400. However, the 70-200 with the 2x converter is a great combo and serves to be more flexible than just having the 100-400.
