Nikon FTZ II Overview

Featuring a streamlined design with minimal projections, the Nikon FTZ II Mount Adapter offers the same functionality as the original FTZ but with a sleeker design to suit its use on cameras featuring a battery grip. This adapter removes the tripod mount and has a reduced overall size for more comfort when shooting with cameras with a built-in or attached grip or wireless transmitter.

As an adapter, the FTZ II enables the use of nearly any F-mount lens on Z-mount mirrorless camera bodies. While compatible with approximately 360 distinct F-mount lenses, this adapter is especially ideal for use with over 90 AF-S and AF-P type D, E, and G-type lenses, where it fully maintains autofocus and auto-exposure capabilities for seamless use of the SLR lenses on the mirrorless body. The adapter is built from magnesium alloy and is weather-sealed.

Will this act like an extension tube?
Asked by: Ray
No, this is an adapter that makes up for the difference in flange focal distance between an F-mount SLR and a Z-mount mirrorless camera. It will retain the same focusing range (minimum focus to infinity) of the attached lens as if it were being used on an SLR.

Since the FTZ II does not come with a tripod foot, can a tripod foot be added on or attached to the FTZ II later (is it a new modular design with an attachable/removable tripod foot option)?

As far as we are aware, it cannot. Your only option would be to consider the original FTZ adapter.

The electronic performance is the same as the previous model. Nikon redesign the adapter by removing the tripod mount and has a reduced overall size for more comfort when shooting with cameras with a built-in or attached grip or wireless transmitter.

Can the Nikon FTZ2 adapter operate the auto f stop down and instant reopen on D lenses?
Asked by: Jeff
It supports AF on AF-S Type D lenses. For a lens that is not AF-S it would be manual focus. However, it still supports all exposure modes on the Type D lenses.
