TTArtisan 40mm f/2.8 Reviews
Unbelievably sharp, short focus throw
This lens is a pleasure to shoot with. It is definitely one of the sharpest lenses I have ever shot with. It is a little less contrasty than I would normally like but this works well in helping me focus on small objects. My only complaints about this lens is that is does focus by extending the barrel and the focus throw is a bit short for my taste. Otherwise, given the price, this is another amazing value by TTartisan.
40MM Macro lens
In my opinion this a fantastic macro lens if your new to macro photography, sharp image and easy to focus. I have used this on a number of occasions and it has yet to fail me. The only complaint I have is when using a lower aperture it can cause the borders of the picture to be a bit blurry, but other than that I think this is a fantastic beginner macro lens!
Not bad
I am enjoying it and if you are really not a big Macro user it is a way to enter the genre
Built like a tank!
The build quality of this lens is great, it's built like a tank. If for any reason it was dropped, it wouldn't break. The metal lens cap is also a really nice touch. The only reason I'm giving this a four instead of a five is that it is a fully manual lens. This can be a bit of a pain sometimes but if you can use it right, you won't have any problem with it. And keep in mind that it has all of this for only 100 dollars, so you're getting really good value from this. If you're just starting off with macro photography, this is a great lens.
A surprisingly good lens
I bought this lens, on a whim, in order to photograph my watches on an XT-4. (I normally use the GFX camera system.) I was pleasantly surprised at the heft and design of the lens. It is very well-made and more than acceptable when stopped down a stop or two. I am a pro with over 40 years experience and I would not hesitate to suggest this lens for the FujiFilm X mount cameras.
Good macro for Fujifilm X camera
For the price, a good macro lens for my Fuji camera. Fits well, but camera functions do Not work with this lens...so you have to use the lens itself for any adjustments. The lens does have zoom adjustment, so you have some control over just how close up you want to get to the subject. I find this lens useful, and as a starter macro lens I am satisfied with it. But I will eventually get a more expensive macro lens that is truly compatible with the Fujifilm camera.
Super versatile lens!
Being a nature photographer, it is a pain having to switch back and forth between different lenses, but this has become the only lens I bring when I'm heading out the door! The ability to get all the way to 1:1 magnification but still be sharp and crisp with larger subjects at 20mm is absolutely fantastic! I've been using for both video and photo with few issues! Metal screw on lens cap is different for sure, but I've found myself liking it a lot, as I don't worry about it falling off. Only downside: some light reflections inside the body when external lights are reflected from certain angles, which causes some almost light leak looking issues, and looses sharpness past f/8 but otherwise, it is phenomenal.
Excellent image for the price
So much fun to use, and when coupled with great light and a steady tripod, you can get incredible photos. You need to use manual mode but it really teaches you how to work the settings.
