The interface's two mic inputs are auto-sensing jacks, allowing them to accept signal from a broad range of TRS/TRRS microphones without needing additional adapters. Monitor the live signal or playback via the built-in, zero-latency headphone port, and connect to virtually any mobile device or computer with the supplied USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and Lightning cables.

Record Two Mics at Once
With two mini-jack mic inputs and a USB Type-C output, the AI-Micro lets you simultaneously record two mics to your computer or mobile device at up to 24-bit / 48 kHz digital resolution. It's ideal for interviews, podcasts, live streaming, and more. Alternatively, input 1 can be configured as a single stereo TRS input for use with stereo microphones.
Auto-Sensing Inputs
The two 3.5mm inputs are auto sensing and detect whether a TRS or TRRS microphone is connected, automatically switching to accommodate a wide variety of separately available mics such as the SmartLav+, Lavalier GO, RODELink Lav, any VideoMic with 3.5mm outputs, and more.
Built-In Headphone Output
The AI-Micro also features a high-quality 3.5mm headphone output for zero-latency audio monitoring and playback.
Universal Connectivity
Thanks to the supplied cables, the AI-Micro can connect seamlessly to USB Type-A, USB Type-C, and Lightning devices. Use it with your Mac/Windows computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone/tablet.

I haven't had a lot of opportunity to use the Rode AI-Micro but it has worked well when I have used it. I'm running it to a MacBook Pro to allow the use of two microphones for Zoom meetings. The only thing I wish is that the built-in amplifier was a little stronger. My shotgun mic could use a little more volume. Otherwise, it's everything I hoped. It's very small and convenient (especially, considering I was looking at USB mixers).

Not only are there two inputs, but the headphone jack is great for listening. Its small size works well. It also arrived almost the next day. I love it.

Did not work on my iPhone with Rode software but works great with the Apple IOS software that comes with the phone. I like that it splits the audio channels allowing for more precise editing.

No L/R split in Android

Thought it would split L/R microphone inputs in Android as it does with IOS. No luck here. It does auto sense Mic types which helps but needed the split for my needs. Retired as I already have Rode SC6-L.

The device is incredibly small and useful, but unfortunately when using an iPad Pro, the mics still can't be increased loud enough even with the app assistance. I have a battery powered cold shoe mounted mic with +10db and that makes it borderline.

Useful for Zoom Tours

Incredibly useful device for running school tours on Zoom. Our school principal stands far away from me while I'm filming and that could make it hard to hear him over Zoom. Pairing this with a Rode Wireless Go made it so everyone could hear him. I was able to plug in headphones to monitor not only what the principal said but what was being said in the meeting as well.

The best way to do that would be to connect (2) Rode Go II receivers, directly to each of the USB-C ports on your laptop and the Rode Connect App will allow you to control all 4 mic channels separately. You will also be able to provide compression as needed to each channel, as well as Rode's Aural Exciter and some other features. The best way to use (4) mics with the Rode AI-Micro, would be to use (2) AI-Micros connected to each of the USB-C inputs on your computer and you would have 1 mic connected to each of the 4 inputs. Rode Connect App will allow you to control those 4 mics separately.

What software do you use for this for Android? Rode does not have an Android version of their Reporter app.

The Rode AI-Micro Ultracompact 2x2 USB Type-C Audio Interface is compatible with the Rode app suite including the Rode Central, the Rode Connect, and the Rode Reporter apps. The Rode Central app is compatible for use with Android 9.0 and above. The Rode Reporter app is now available for both iOS and Android devices. The Rode Connect app is currently available only for Mac and Windows computers.

Could this be used to connect a sound recorder with an output line to a Mac? Looking for a way to not record voice overs everytime in my tascam and then transfer via SD. Would this make my setup an external microphone for mac?

The Rode AI-Micro Ultracompact 2x2 USB Type-C Audio Interface is expecting a Mic level signal and may not accept a Line level signal from a device appropriately. If the device output you are using can be attenuated to Mic level, it stands a good chance of working with the AI-Micro as desired.

Will the AI-Micro work with Sony UWP-V1 wireless mics and a Samsung S21FE phone? Somewhat concerned it won't work with the Sony wireless mics.

Yes, the Rode AI-Micro Ultracompact 2x2 USB Type-C Audio Interface is capable of facilitating a connection between the receiver output of the Sony UWP-V1 Wireless Lavalier Microphone and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE smart phone's USB Type-C connection. When set to Mic level output, the Sony receiver's output should work appropriately with the interface.

Rode VXLR+ would not be compatible for this kind of solution. Rode VXLR+ is for converting 3.5mm connection microphones that require mic plugin power, going into XLR mic inputs with phantom power available. You can connect the Sennheiser e845 to the Rode AI Micro using a Kopul XRSM cable (KOXRSM15B).
