Optical Tube
  • Unique design eliminates traditional eyepieces and substitutes in a low-light detector sensor for viewing on a computer, tablet, or phone
  • 50x optical magnification with digital magnification of up to 400x
  • 27 x 37 arcmin field of view
  • 4.5" primary mirror with a fast f/4 focal ratio for clearer imaging
  • Reflector design produces a longer effective focal length while maintaining a compact length—making it suited to off-grid use
  • 1.72 arcsecond resolution to split binary stars
Imaging System
  • Sony Exmor IMX224 imaging sensor
  • On-board image processing computer precisely and quickly gathers the incoming light and presents a clear and accurate image
  • Provides clear and detailed views, even in areas with heavy light pollution
  • Autonomous Field Detection system provides accurate alignment and tracking by detecting and recognizing the star field overhead without the need for polar alignment or finderscopes
  • Automatic light pollution filter software "cleans up" the noise that normally obscures conventional observation
  • On-board 64GB of memory can store up to 35 hours of images
App Control
  • App is available for iOS and Android (min requirement: iOS 12 or Android 6, with touchscreen, GPS, and WiFi)
  • Integrated Wi-Fi module allows up to 10 devices to connect to share the observation experience
  • App for iOS and Android has a database of over 5000 objects with object recommendations, information, and stats
  • Set up your telescope outside and observe in the comfort of your home on hot summer and cold winter nights
Mount & Tripod
  • Motorized alt-azimuth mount automatically tracks objects and allows user input via app
  • Integrated rechargeable battery with up to 12 hours of runtime
  • Three-stage aluminum tripod with secure snapping leg locks
  • Integrated bullseye bubble level

Very Capable Scope

I bought this telescope during the great sale recently with the intent to streamline my astro hobby and reduce the amount of stuff needed to enjoy the hobby. I decided to go ahead and get an eVScope and sell my regular bulky telescope. It was a difficult decision but I made it. After ordering from B&H, I received the eVscope in great shape and as soon as possible I set it up outside in the driveway. I live in a small town and I am only about 1.5 miles from the bright downtown area. I use a new iPad Mini to operate the telescope. The telescope set up quickly and easily and managed to align it the first night with no problems. I am an experienced amateur astronomer and have used many modern computerized telescopes, but I will say the instructions are far from ideal. They showed me well enough to setup and operate it, but leave out a lot detail about the scope, its functions and how to maximise its use. I found the new software very good but it lacks a map based catalog of objects. One must select an object to view and photograph from a list in the application, unlike many that use a star chart application you can point to and select from. That said, the telescope aligned itself very well and gotos and tracking were perfect. The telescope uses plate solving to locate itself after pointing the scope to the sky in any direction..no need to do an alignment on stars. A word about the gotos...when slewing to an object, this scope takes some time to complete as the telescope slews a couple times and then stops for 10-30 seconds and apparently does a separate plate solving solution to execute the final slew. I wasn't sure what was going on at first but found the wait was well worth it as the object was near perfectly centered once complete. A really neat performance each time. I found that photographic capabilities very good, and the results were excelent considering the small size of this telescope. This scope is not cheap, but I decided its portability and capability more than made up for the lack of heavy equipment normally used to study the heavens. Clear Skies!

VERY IMPRESSED WITH B&H!!

The sales staff was pleasant, patient and easy to deal with. I could recommend them for that alone, but I also paid $600.00 less than MSRP! What's not to like? Now to the telescope: If you're an aging amateur astronomer like myself whose eyes aren't what they used to be, I highly recommend this scope. It does everything the manufacturer claims. I am sooo impressed! I'm 60yrs old not what you'd call tech savvy. I watched a number of tutorials on the net while waiting for the scope to arrive, and when it came time to actually set up the scope myself, I found it was actually EASIER than I thought it was going to be. For first light I chose M51 the Whirlpool galaxy. The scope slewed to it, I hit the enhanced vision, and within 28 seconds I was seeing it as I never thought possible from my light polluted skies! Truly amazing. I felt like I was 10yrs old again glimpsing the rings of Saturn for the first time! If you're on the fence, don't be. You're never going to see deep space objects like this unless you have thousands of dollars in astrophotography equipment and have spent years navigating the night sky. Wanna see nebulae in color? This little scope is a game changer!

Easy to setup and use. Best decision ever!

I have been an astronomy buff for most of my life and is something I share with my young son. Hauling out a heavy mount and scope and other gadgets was fun, but a hassle. This scope is easy to carry and setup... it literally takes a couple of minutes. And not having to polar align every viewing session is great too. We have had great views of the Horsehead Nebula, Cigar Nebula, and many many galaxies, objects we could never see on our other, larger scopes. This is now our go to scope for everything even though we have much larger scopes.
