Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 AF Reviews

Good optics, heavy weight

It's 2023, there's no such thing as a bad lens/camera. The optics are good for professionals or hobbyists. The issue is the size and weight especially compared to its direct competitor the Tamron 28-75 (either generation). This lens feels robust and well made but is comparable in weight to a sigma 105mm f1.4. Fine for a portrait shoot but not suitable, at least to me, for a travel or walk around lens. Recommendation, go with a Tamron 28-75

Very disappointed

A give this lens a try after seeing some reviewers compare this to the Sigma. I used it on the A7RV and found I couldn't get a sharp photo out of it. This lens is definitely ot up to par with the Sigma or Tamron. Will be returning.

Wil this lens autofocus be controlled by Sony FS5 and FS7?
Asked by: Viktor
The autofocus works on current Sony models in video, such as the Sony A7S III, FX3 and FX6. Unfortunately, we were not able to test this lens on the FS5 or FS7 as they are discontinued models.
