Lexar 256GB UHS-II SDXC Overview

The 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card (2-Pack) from Lexar features a storage capacity of 256GB per card and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support advanced DSLR functions such as continuous shutter bursts and rapid shooting, as well as raw and JPEG captures. This card is also well-suited for video capture, including 4K, 3D, and Full HD video, and can achieve maximum read speeds of up to 250 MB/s and maximum write speeds of up to 120 MB/s. Thanks to its V60 speed class rating, minimum write speeds are guaranteed not to drop below 60 MB/s.

UHS-II cards achieve their speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V60 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V60. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantee minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

To help protect against accidental file deletion, there is a built-in write protect switch. To further safeguard against possible data loss, users can download free Image Rescue software that is designed to recover most photo and video files.

Is there any obvious difference in term of write/read speed that this V60 card is comparing to V90 card when recording 8K video?
Asked by: Rong
The Lexar 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card (2-Pack) is not compatible for use with 8K video. A V90 card would be recommended for use with 8K video. For a 256GB card recommendation from Lexar, I would recommend the Lexar 256GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, B&H # LESD2000256, for your usage needs to record 8K video.

Will this card work with a Canon 7D, Mk 4?
Asked by: Jerry
The Lexar 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card (2-Pack) is compatible with the SD card slot in the Canon EOS 7D Mark II and Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Cameras. However, the cameras do not support the fast speed of UHS-II cards. The SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card, BH #SA256GBEPSD, is a less expensive option with the same performance.

Does the 256 work with Sony mirrorless a7ii
Asked by: Michie
The card is compatible with the A7II, however as Dante previously stated. The A7II does not have a UHS-II Slot, so you wouldn't be able to take advantage of advertised speeds. It's highly suggested you buy the UHS-I variants of these cards for the A7II.

How good are these card with Sony A1 video/photo at 30fps?
Asked by: Munjal
Lexar 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Cards are not made to handle 30 FPS photos or 8K 30p video from Sony A1. We would highly recommend you to get a Sony 160GB CFexpress Type A TOUGH Memory Card BH #SOCEAG160.
