This aluminum alloy adapter is both lightweight and sturdy, blocking light from seeping in behind your matte box. A thumbscrew on the back of the matte box clamps the adapter in place.

Designed for the Tilta Mirage Matte Box

This adapter ring enables you to attach lenses with an 80mm diameter into the 95mm opening on the Tilta Mirage Matte Box.

Lens cap does not work with ring

Fit perfectly a 80mm circumference so it do its job as an adapter. Only limitation is when using the ring adapter lens cap can't be used. Ring makes lens barrel bigger. Must take ring out first loosening screw with allen key then lens cap would fit. Take that into account. Cant leave ring installed unless you find another lens cap that works.

This is a great accessory and works perfectly. I have 3 lenses with an 80mm diameter. Rather than change it out for each lens, which can be a pain, I just spent $38 and bought two extra ; ) Does what it says it does.

Can this adapter be used to attach the Mirage ...

Can this adapter be used to attach the Mirage matte box to the Vespid 16mm lens? I believe that lens has 80mm outside diameter.

Because of the shape of the tulip hood on the front of the DZOFilm VESPID 16mm T2.8 Cine Lens, the Tilta Cinema Adapter Ring for Mirage Matte Box (80mm) may not work in this case although it has an 80mm front diameter. The lens may also be too wide to not suffer seeing the inside of the matte box.

Is there a version of this adapter that can be mounted inside the Tilta Mirage matte box, rather than mount to outside of lens?

No, there isn't an 80mm threaded option as an alternative to the Tilta Cinema Adapter Ring for Mirage Matte Box (80mm) for the Tilta Mirage Matte Box. The closest options are the Tilta Adapter Ring for Tilta Mirage Matte Box (77mm) and the Tilta Adapter Ring for Tilta Mirage Matte Box (82mm).
