Can I sync a Logic session through UAD Apollo?

Can I sync a Logic session through UAD Apollo?
Asked by: Craig
You can use the Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) (B&H# TETE2MK2) to add a timecode signal to a single audio track. That can be fed into many devices that produce or modify audio, whether that is your computer using a DAW, a camera, or a field recorder. If you are using the Universal Audio Apollo Solo Heritage Edition Desktop 2x4 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface with SOLO Core Real-Time UAD Processing (B&H# UNAPLSHE) then you will first need to have a means of inputting an audio track into your DAW so that all of the tracks may be read (including the one with the timecode) simultaneously.

Can this unit handle 60 or 120 fps? If not, is there a product that can?
Asked by: Philip
No, the Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) can sync to 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, and 30 fps only, they are not capable of syndic with 60 or 120, though most timecode generators do not support those frame rates either, as they are not relevant for audio recording. TentacleSynce recommends the following when shooting at higher frame rates, "Just use your Tentacle unit with 30 fps (29,97 fps, 25 fps), when recording 60 fps (59,94 fps, 50 fps). Our Tentacle Sync Studio software will automatically detect the difference and will recalculate the timecode for the higher frame rate. " See: https://bhpho.to/45oN2k6

Is it possible to split stereo signal coming from Sync E, so I'd get only timecode in CH1 and use proper shotgun mic for CH2?
Asked by: Maro
The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) do not output a stereo signal, so if your camera has multiple inputs for audio then yes, you could rout the Sync E mkII into one of the inputs and your mic into the other. If your camera only has a single audio input then input you will not be able to use a mic along with the Tentacle Sync E mkII.

Is there a difference in range with this version and the previous version ?
Asked by: Senoga
For now, there won't be any changes in the Bluetooth range of the Tentacle SYNC E MkII compared to the MkI. The functionality will be identical with the previous version. Possibly in future, Tentacle will be able to offer an update that allows a wider range. Currently, the range is around 10-15 meters.

How would this work with 4 cameras shooting various frame rates at once + 6 external audio devices?
Asked by: Ryan
The frame rates of the cameras would have to use a common divisor. Since the SMPTE 12m broadcast standard is limited to 30fps, you need to set the cameras to a multiple of the project frame rate. For example 30fps - 60fps, or 29.97fps - 59.94fps.
