Built using the Alder Lake architecture with the Intel 7 process, this 12th generation 3.3 GHz desktop processor's four Performance-cores support up to 8 threads and provide the speed for applications and games. Additionally, this processor has a 4.3 GHz Boost 2.0 frequency with 12MB of cache for fast and reliable performance. The Core i3-12100F also includes support for PCI Express 5.0 and dual-channel DDR5 memory at 4800 MHz to help run and multitask a variety of applications.

The Core i3-12100F does not include integrated graphics, meaning that users will need to purchase a separate dedicated graphics card. An Intel Laminar RM1 thermal solution is included. The processor is compatible with Intel LGA 1700 socket motherboards and is backed by a 3-year warranty.

What more can you ask out of a cpu in the $100 range? Nothing cause this thing checks all the boxes. Handles games AAA games with fps right in line with 11600k. Also the new Intel cooler looks way batter and actually keeps the chip at low temps no matter what is thrown at it. My pick for a cheaper 1080p build.

Great budget chip. Using it for gaming and the single core performance is very high. Can't be beat at this price point. Stock cooler works fine.

Worth The Price To Upgrade From 6Th Gen Intel

I was looking for something inexpensive for the time being to upgrade to newer technology. I purchased this 12 Generation, i3 Intel processor to replace my 6 Generation, i7 Intel processor. I also replace motherboard too. I was able to keep everything else the same, including the older DDR4 memory. The memory is slightly slower than what's recommended for this processor, but it does still work. A website CPU benchmark comparison between old and new processor indicates I should see about 30% increase in performance. Results: I am seeing that Windows 10 Pro loads much faster and system overall is more responsive. My PCIe 3.0 M2 SSD runs faster also too due to new technology on 12th Gen motherboard. I had non-OEM license for Windows 10, so I just had to reactivate license due to hardware change instead having to purchase new key. An added bonus is my system is also now eligible to upgrade to Windows 11.

Less expensive cpu for gaming, you need a discreet gpu. Running Windows 10 pro and Windows 11 pro.

I upgraded from an I7-4790k and it blows it out of the water. At the time I was playing Death Stranding : Director's Cut, and went from getting 60-70FPS to getting 120FPS with full GPU utilization (before, it was at 30%). Now I can finally put my GPU to use. I got this at $90 in 2021, while I got that I7 for $250 in 2015. This CPU is showing about a 40% increase in speed in most applications.
