VocoPro DIGITAL-34-AI Overview

The VocoPro Digital-34-AI is a four-channel digital wireless handheld and headset microphone system that bundles all the essential components to bring quality audio to presenters, musicians, performers, clergy, and instructors working in challenging schools, houses of worship, clubs, conference rooms, and event spaces.

The Digital-34-AI comes with a 4-channel rackmount receiver, four handheld microphones, and four bodypack transmitters, each with a headset mic, a 1/4" instrument cable, and a pouch. There is a 6' four-channel XLR snake for balanced connection to a mixing board and two 1/4" cables for unbalanced connections. Also included are color-coded windscreens and mic clips for the handheld mics. The system can be securely packaged in the two carrying bags.

Fast to set up and easy to operate, this system utilizes the 900 MHz band (immune to TV-broadcast interference) to provide reliable audio at a range up to 150'. The handheld microphone/bodypack transmitters provide up to 3 hours of operation on two AA batteries.

Sound terrible, significant background noise

Bought these for additional mics for community theater. Needed something outside of the 470-608mhz range due to that range basically being full from nearby TV stations and our existing mics (16 channels analog). Figured 900mhz would be relatively safe while being cheap and available. These had no dropouts (max range was about 150', between FOH and backstage), even with the stock antennas, so they were definitely reliable, however they sound terrible, and have a ton of background noise (not exactly noise floor, the noise floor is high, but there is also periodic hiss/buzz on each channel.) I aggressively gated and eq'd to try to get them not to sound absolutely terrible, but they still sound closer to an old timey radio/phone call audio rather than a full range mic. If we only used these, you MIGHT not notice how bad they sound (but honestly the periodic buzz/hiss is definitely audible), but using 4 of these along with our existing 16 channels of better mics, these sound absolutely terrible by comparison. Definitely wouldn't recommend these.

This set has worked out for us really well the few times we have used it. The only issue I have with it is the on/off/mute button on one of the handhelds keeps slipping out of place and becomes nonfunctional. It is currently being shipped back to VocoPro under warranty to have it fixed. I hope this is just a fluke and the rest don't end up that way. We have only had them less than a year.
