Capture high-quality, low-noise recordings from your favorite XLR microphone directly to your camera with the TASCAM CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Cameras. This version attaches to your camera's shoe mount and connects to the camera's external audio input via the included 3.5mm cable. Two AA batteries supply power for the preamp and 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, making this version well suited for use with mirrorless/DSLR models from Nikon and many other manufacturers.

Run time is variable depending on the type of batteries and mic inputs used, with alkaline models supplying between 3 and 6 hours of operation, while lithium-ion batteries will keep the unit running for between 8 and 14.5 hours.

HDDA Mic Preamp for High Quality Sound with Low Noise & Wide Dynamic Range
The CA-XLR2d is equipped with a high-definition discrete-architecture microphone preamplifier that can process anything from room tone to explosions, making it well suited to a wide range of sets and environments. Each input supports microphone/line-level switching and a +48V phantom power supply. The CA-XLR2d allows input of dynamic microphones, condenser microphones, and line-level audio signals from a mixer.
Designed for a High Degree of Freedom
A cold shoe on the top panel expands setting flexibility. The shockmount mechanism is vibration and noise resistant and allows you to connect various microphones. With two XLR/TRS input connectors and one 3.5mm stereo mini microphone input jack, the CA-XLR2d has the flexibility to adapt to the gear necessary for the job and work in a wide variety of shooting scenarios. A 3.5mm output terminal with headphone mode provides latency-free direct monitoring or analog camera connection.
Built-In Processing with User-Friendly Control for Clean and Clear Recordings
Internal processing options such as Auto Level, a Low-Cut Filter, and a Limiter are on board, all using convenient switches. The 1+2 LINK function allows you to adjust the L/R volume simultaneously when recording in stereo.
Analog Interface Kit
TASCAM has collaborated with Nikon to create an in-camera recording solution for XLR mics, using the included 2 x AA battery box and cold shoe mount adapter. An included cable connects the CA-XLR2d's analog out to the camera's 3.5mm mic input jack allowing the CA-XLR2d to work as an analog audio adapter and deliver high-quality sound from XLR mics to a wide range of existing camera users.

Received the Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Mic adapter in Aug. 2022. After owning for just 5 months and have only used 4 times, the product stopped working. Owned too long to send back but still under warranty. Has been in for repair since May 5th. Part needed to fix is on back order. Was told it could be additional months before i get it back. Deeply regret this purchase and am looking at other options to purchase. Will see this unit when-ever I get it back

Great quality, easy to use, needs rechargeable battery

This is a solid piece of kit, and works seamlessly with my Z9. I like that this is versatile through the 3.5mm out, and can provide all the attenuation and power I need through the the other inputs. The only issue is battery power. I would love if this had a more powerful rechargeable battery, or the ability to swap on standard Sony or Canon batteries like you can on many monitors and other equipment. I often need this to stay powered up for 4-6 hours continuously, not the 2-3 it gave me. I'm using a schoepps cmit 5u through this so it needs constant 48v power, if you're using a sennheiser MKE600 or similar you could supply your own power to the mic and probably save on batteries for the tascam.

Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN is one of the best XLR microphone adapter kit for DSLR/Mirrorless and Cinema cameras. The sound quality from this adapter is so good, and matches my expensive MixPre-D from Sound Devices. Apart from the quality sound you get, this device is very easy to operate, and also very convenient to mount on the camera hot shoe without putting any pressure on it. I have canon R5 and Panasonic Gh5 so I purchased the model with 3.5mm analog cable which uses AA alkaline/lithium-ion batteries. I tried it with Rode NTG-1 and Rode VideoMic Pro+ mics and the combination gave me a perfect audio. Thanks B&H for your express delivery!

Yes, the TASCAM CA-XLR2d-F XLR Microphone Adapter K can be used with two AA batteries which can be alkaline, NimH, or lithium. You can use lithium batteries such as the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries - 1.5V, 3500mAh, 4-Pack (B&H # ENAALU4).

Yes, the Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Cameras (3.5mm Analog) is fully compatible for use with the Canon EOS R5 Camera and other DSLR/mirrorless cameras that have a 3.5mm TRS mic input. The CA-XLR2d-C version (B&H # TACAXLR2DC) is for select Canon cameras that have Canon's multi-accessory shoe and it is currently only compatible for use with the EOS R3 and XF605 camera models. The only difference between the two models is that the version for the multi-accessory shoe has the ability to connect to the camera digitally, without using a cable. All other features are the same as the wired version.

Hi, what is the maximum microphone diameter that the holder can accommodate? I would like to know if it's able to mount the ATH-BP28 microphone. Thank you.

The mic holder in the Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Cameras (3.5mm Analog) can be used to mount microphones with diameters between 19-23mm. The Audio Technica BP28 has a larger diameter of 28mm and does not appear compatible with the mic holder on this device.

This Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Cameras (3.5mm Analog) can run on AA batteries, and send audio in to the camera's 3.5mm mic input. It does not require connection to the shoe for operation.
