Lexar 256GB UHS-II SDXC Overview

The 256GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from Lexar features a storage capacity of 256GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support advanced DSLR functions such as continuous shutter bursts and rapid shooting, as well as raw and JPEG captures. This card is also well-suited for video capture, including 4K, 3D, and Full HD video, and can achieve maximum read speeds of up to 300 MB/s and maximum write speeds of up to 260 MB/s. Thanks to its V90 speed class rating, minimum write speeds are guaranteed not to drop below 90 MB/s, making it qualified for use with cameras that include the Blackmagic Pocket 6K G2 and Ursa G2.

UHS-II cards achieve their speed through an extra row of pins, and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V90 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V90. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V60, which supports minimum write speeds of 60 MB/s, UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantee minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

As with most Lexar media, this memory card is able to withstand water, shock, vibration, X-rays, and temperatures from -13 to 185°F, allowing you to take this card with you into extreme environments, such as snow and deserts. Should the card become compromised, users in the Americas will benefit from a limited lifetime warranty, while those in Germany and regions not recognizing the lifetime warranty will benefit from a limited 10-year warranty.

If you are shooting in RAW (specially in burst) or shooting video with the Sony a7 V Mirrorless Camera, we would recommend you to get a CFexpress Type A memory card which is much faster.

I have been using this card on my Sony mirrorless ...

I have been using this card on my Sony mirrorless cameras and lenses. Sometimes, my photos are grainy and I have been investigating the problems: camera, lens, SD card or my skills. Would the quality and the write speed (from camera buffer to the SD card) of the SD card also be contributing to the problem? Thank you.
Asked by: George
Photos being grainy would not be the result of a memory card. Depending on the camera, some can become more grainy even at lower ISO's compared to others. For example, even at 12,800 ISO, the Sony A7SIII hardly shows any grain because it is a 12mp sensor, but the A7R4, when pushed to anything seemingly over 1600 ISO, it starts to show very definitive grain because it is a 61mp sensor. When more megapixels are on the same size sensor, each one is going to need to be smaller and as a result, it is less efficient at hiding noise at higher ISO's.

Will this work with a 5D Mark IV?

Will this work with a 5D Mark IV?
Asked by: Lee
The 5D Mark IV has dual card slots- CompactFlash and UHS-I SD card. Although you can use the Lexar UHS-II SD cards (because it is backwards compatible) in the secondary SD slot on the 5D, it will only record to the card at the slower UHS-I write speed. So youd be wasting your money for a high speed card that your camera is not capable of taking advantage of that speed with. So I would stick with a UHS-I card like the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-I which has newer versions that are capable of 170MB/sec speeds.

Between Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC AND SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, which one is better to use on Nikon D850 for video ?
Asked by: p
Both cards have nearly identical specs, but as the Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card has a V90 rating for a sustained minimum write speed of 90 MB/sec for video recording usage, I would recommend the Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card.
