Sea & Sea MDX-Z7II Overview

Use your Nikon Z7/Z6 mirrorless camera to capture the beauty of sea life and environments at depths as great as 328' with the Sea & Sea 06189 MDX-Z7 Underwater Housing. This aluminum-bodied waterproof enclosure is equipped with dual fiber-optic cable ports and support for an optional, internal Optical YS Converter for fiber-optic strobe use, as well as an N-Type 2-pin connector for sync cord strobes. Ergonomic, mechanical controls, including levers, push buttons, and dials, provide access to virtually all camera functions, while dual side grips offer better balance and handling and give you attachment points for lighting arms.

Built for durability, the housing is constructed from precision-machined aluminum that has been anodized for resistance to corrosion. A built-in leak sensor alerts you immediately in the unlikely event of a breach in the waterproof seal.

The MDX-Z7 ships without a required lens port, and accepts a series of interchangeable ports for various lenses. The housing's focus and zoom gears work with standard F-mount lenses and the Nikon FTZ adapter, as well as with Z-mount lenses. The housing's external port lock and lens release function allow you to swap lenses quickly and easily between dives--without removing the back of the housing. Optional VF45 and VF180 viewfinders can be added for easier underwater viewing.

Port Lock and Lens Lock
The Port Lock prevents the port from turning or loosening, and the Port Lock lever is specifically located to avoid being unlocked accidentally. The housing is equipped with a lens-lock release button that makes it possible to change lenses easily without opening the housing.
Leak Sentinel
Used along with a separately sold Sea & Sea Electric Pump (SS-46126) or Manual Pump (SS-46127), the included Sentinel detects leaks in the vacuum seal and warns you with an LED if it's unsafe to dive.
Larger Lenses
Pulling out the Focus/Zoom Dial gives sufficient room inside the housing to easily accommodate larger-diameter lenses.
External Diopter Control
The camera's diopter adjustment dial can be operated from outside the housing. This feature is useful when two or more people with different eyesight use the housing.
Viewfinder
Equipped with the Optical Viewfinder 0.5x as standard. Other optional viewfinders, such as Optical Viewfinder 0.66x and 0.8x, can be used. Some vignetting occurs. When the VF45 or VF180 1.2x is mounted on the housing, the corners of the camera's viewfinder cannot be viewed due to vignetting.
Strobe Operation
Sync Cord 2-pin connector enables the use of conventional hardwired sync cable (manual mode only).
Sacrificial Zinc Diodes
Equipped with two sacrificial zinc diodes (one on the front case and the other on the rear) to prevent electrolysis damage.
