7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.4 Reviews

amazingly priced S35 35mm lens

this is a S35/APSC sensor 35mm lens so a ff equivalent of ~52.5 this lens is perfect if you get past that it is all manual :)

I Don't Believe It!

I cannot believe this is a $69 dollar lens. I just tested it out on my Panasonic GH5 and the picture quality is surprisingly good! It gives a fabulous shallow depth of field at F2 and the image is very sharp and clear. It's a very small and light lens, perfect for handheld and close work. As with other reviews, yes, I agree, the lens cap does not stay on when a UV filter is attached to the 49 mm lens front. However, the compensations of this lens outweigh the lens cap issue. Now, let's hope this lens holds up during moderate use.

Great first Leica M lens

So my honest review will keep it simple Pros -affordable -semi usable 1.4 -tac sharp 2.8 -built in hood -metal construction (feels quality) Cons -not calibrated (kind of annoying to calibrate) -hood doesn't lock and can be easily pushed down -focus throw is a little stiff after 1 month of use -aperture ring doesn't click really well so you can switch aperture too easily and on accident

This is a great little lens. Heavier than expected, but in a good way. Doesn't feel cheaply made and smooth controls. Would definitely buy again I like it that much. Great little lens.

Great build, nice weight, at an excellent price. I want a fast 50mm equivalent so I grabbed this since I rarely ever shoot at 50. I'm impressed, it's sharp dead center with good dof.

Great starter lens

Got this lens as my 1st prime lens and it's fantastic for the price! Had to make some changes to the cameras auto-focus settings as it is a manual focus lens but would recommend!

I Cannot Believe This Lens Cost Me $69!

I tested this lens right out of the box with my Panasonic GH5 and I was pleasantly surprised by the image quality at UHD, 24p, 422 10 bit ALL-I. The image and colors were crisp and clear and the shallow depth of field at F2 looked fabulous. This is a small and light lens, great for handheld, up close work. If this lens holds up well over moderate use, I got the bargain of the century!

This 7 artisans 35mm f/1.4 lens is for Leica M mount, and LUMIX DC-S5 fits Leica L mount. Just need a "Leica M to Leica L adapter" and you are able to use this lens on your S5. Just FYI anything for Leica M which means that they are manual lenses.

Asked by: Kat
One would need to get this lens in the correct mount for the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera. One would need the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.4 Lens for Micro Four Thirds (Silver), BH #7A3514M43 (https://bhpho.to/3gOHEDo). Keep in mind this is a manual lens, and aperture and focus would need to be controlled manually.

Has anyone tried tested this on the Leica CL or Minolta CLE and know if the lens blocks the rangefinder focus window or not?
Asked by: Peter
Unfortunately, both the Leica CL Mirrorless Camera and the Leitz Minolta CLE Rangefinder 35mm Film Camera have both been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase new. Neither camera has been tested for usage with the 7artisans Photoelectric M35mm f/1.4 Lens for Leica M. However, as both cameras use the Leica M lens mount, the lens should be compatible for usage on both cameras. We just have no way of knowing if the lens will block the rangefinder focus window.
