Anyone who shoots with an M-10 knows that battery life is not the best. Stepping up the the M-11 series offers many refinements. Battery life is at the top of the list. I can, and have shot all-day events with just one BP-SCL7. I carry a spare, but have not needed it.

Great battery with relatively long life for the M11 series. I recommend though having at least two spares if you're traveling or photographing in cold weather (which drains batteries.) Better safe than sorry. Thanks B&H for the fabulous service and quick shipping, as always!

The Leica BP-SCL7 Lithium-Ion Battery (Black) is not compatible with the Leica TL2 camera; the battery for that camera is the BP-DC13.

Can this be recharged in the camera, or do I absolutely need to buy the charger with this, too? Does the recharger charge the battery faster?
The Leica M11 can charge its battery if it's switched off, or in standby, and plugged into a USB-C cable powered by a charger or a computer port. The camera comes with one battery and one battery charger. The Leica battery charger is also powered through an USB-C port on the charger, and comes with an AC to DC transformer with 5V/2A output via an USB-A port, and an USB-A to USB-C cord.
