Radial Engineering DM1 Overview

The Hotshot DM1 Microphone Switcher from Radial Engineering is a durable and useful mic signal splitter and mute switch that enables vocalists to depress a temporary footswitch and mute their mic to redirect the signal either to an intercom system, stage monitor, or alternate signal chain. This handy stage accessory gives great flexibility for stage communication or signal control while remaining incredibly easy to use and taking up minimal space.

The DM1 is constructed of heavy-duty 14-gauge steel and has a number of useful applications onstage from muting a mic for coughing, to redirecting the signal for communication with stage crew or band members, to activating separate channels with unique FX chains like echo and reverb. The temporary footswitch only affects the signal while depressed, and returns normal routing upon release, while a convenient ground-lift switch can be used to eliminate pesky ground hum on the output. No matter the application, the Hotshot DM1 is an incredibly useful tool for any vocalist, stage performer, or public performance venue.

Key Features
  • Redirects output to monitoring system for discrete communication with stage crew or band

  • Features ground lift, which deactivates pin-1 at the XLR OUTPUT-B to eliminate ground hum
  • Heavy-duty 14-gauge steel construction for rugged durability
  • Extremely small footprint for unobtrusive stage placement

I really like this product. It comes in handy when you have a band to lead.

I use this box to have my lead singer sing through one channel and be able to talk to the band on the second channel through their headphone mix.I have used alot of mic switchers and most tend to bleed into the second channel. This box takes it cleanly in to the second channel. Perfect tool for me.

question

Does this feed though phantom power?
Asked by: M E.
According to the Radial manual: Although the DM1 may work in some cases with condenser mics, we do not recommend it due to power on/off transients which could cause the sound system to pop when switching. To be safe, only use the DM1 with dynamic mics.
