Whether you are a business professional, photographer, or graphic designer, you can turn your desktop in to a full-fledged workstation with the CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 18-in-1 Hub. When combined with a Thunderbolt 4 compatible notebook or PC, the TS4 expands the utility of your device with ample ports and enhanced data transfer speeds for a streamlined desktop setup.

A single Thunderbolt 4 host connection gives you two additional Thunderbolt 4 ports, offering data transfer speeds up to 40 Gb/s and daisy-chaining technology so you can connect multiple devices such as storage drive arrays, displays, and more. Support a wide range of peripherals with three USB Type-C and five USB Type-A ports, all sporting a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface for enhanced data-transfer speeds and quick file migration. Photographers can easily upload files with microSD and SD UHS-II ports built directly into the front of the device, alleviating the need for pesky adapters. You also get additional multimedia functionality with a DisplayPort 1.4 output, 3.5mm front access combo audio jack, and two 3.5mm rear line-in and line-out jacks.

DisplayPort Output

The TB4 can support displays up to 8K resolution when only a single display is connected. Otherwise, the TB4 can support dual 4K 60 Hz displays on select devices such as Intel-based Macs, Windows operating systems, and Chrome OS. Original M1 based Macs do not support dual displays.

Power Delivery

Charge your device while it is connected to the hub with 98W Power Delivery, ensuring you are never low on notebook power when you need to pack up and go. Each downstream Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4.0 Type-C port offers 15W, front USB Type-C ports provide 20W, and the rest of the USB Type-C and Type-A ports offer 7.5W, allowing you to charge your phones, tablets, and other mobile devices when in use.

Internet Connection

If you do not have access to your Wi-Fi connection or simply prefer a wired connection, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port is available so you can quickly download documents, watch your favorite media, or even take part in conference calls with ease.

System Requirements

Thunderbolt 4 is compatible with a range of operating systems running macOS 11.4 (Big Sur) or above as well as Windows 10 (20H2) or later. While Thunderbolt 4 is the optimal choice for greater system efficiency, Thunderbolt 4 is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4.0 Type-C devices including select Chromebooks, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and Windows Tablets with reduced performance.

CalDigit TS4 Reviews

Works Great!!

When I purchased this dock, I thought it would be too much for me and did I make a mistake.... NOPE! Dock is awesome!! Have the ethernet connected to my primary tower......my back up drive....my Wacom tablet.....can charge 2 of my Sony or Canon Cameras while work on the computer..... ...have not had the issues others have described with incompatibility or drive ejections.... Attached to 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max 16 laptop, running macOS Monterey 12.3.1, and so far, has been flawless. Highly recommend.

Compact Dock, Great Features & a Ton of Very Usable Ports

I waited a little while to purchase this dock because of the occasional negative review concerning Ethernet connectivity or kernel panics. CalDigit seems to have usable work-arounds and my dock is performing well. All that is required to get this to work reliably is to change the Ethernet settings and power management settings (no sleep). For reference: I am running a 16-inch, 2019 MacBook Pro (Thunderbolt 3 ports) with an Apple 32 XDR display, Gig Ethernet, 4 usb A-type devices, OWC Mercury drive enclosure (TB3), iPhone and a few other things connected and everything is working. This thing works better than my OWC TB4 dock and takes up less space because it can sit in a vertical orientation! The only thing that I cannot get to work yet is my Apple SuperDrive. MacOSX always displays a message that the device should be connected direct to the notebook. I would buy this unit again as it was money well spent.

Don't Buy

Product has too many flaws. However, the biggest is that the product required hard resets to make it work. You will have to unplug the device from the wall in order to make it work again. You can not leave it plug all the time.

Useful and compact.

This came back in stock right as my 14 Macbook Pro finally shipped. Works so seamlessly with my 4k monitors and other accessories. Love the charging abilities on the front ports as well. Excited to keep playing with it and get the most out of it.

Expensive but worth it!

I was hesitant to buy it because of the price, but so far it has been absolutely worth it. Build quality is great, and all the ports work flawlessly.

Avoid grief, don't buy

This product - or at least the unit I received - is a disaster. It is incompatible with the sleep mode on my Mac. When the Mac goes into sleep mode, all devices connected to the TS4 are disrupted. My external DAC stops receiving any signal via USB, so my desktop speakers don't work. The status light on my label printer goes from off to blinking. Worst of all, my external SSDs are disconnected as if I yanked the cables from the sockets instead of unmounting first. I get a warning for each SSD. This could cause of loss of data if a backup was in process when the Mac went to sleep. Disk Utility no longer sees the SSDs, so I can't remount from there. For all of these problems, the only solution is to reboot the computer, which is annoying because I have to shut down various processes before I can do that. The previous version of the CalDigit dock, the TS3+, did not have these problems. I run a pair of TS3+ docks. I am not alone in having these TS4 problems. I've seen many complaints on the internet. CalDigit's website acknowledges the problems but seems to blame them on Apple. I'm left to wonder what testing CalDigit performed before shipping the product. I also wonder how this could happen. Did CalDigit procure a bunch of faulty chips during the microchip supply disruptions?

Disppointment

Completely disappointment! M1 Macbook 2021 (Max) having so many issue, it goes to sleep mode and ethernet never shows any sign of internet, also external hard drive shows drive not ejected properly and I have to unplug TB4 Cable and reconnect into another port of my Mac and restart it. I would not recommend this product to MACBOOK users specially M1 Max and Studio Ultra (2022), I have same problem with my Mac Studio. If they fix this issue in future, I will think about it.
