Can I record direct to the SSD from my R5C?

Can I record direct to the SSD from my R5C?
Asked by: Eduardo
Unfortunately, no, you may not use an external hard drive such as the Samsung 1TB T7 Shield Portable SSD (Black) connected to the USB port of the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera. However, while recording via the USB port is not currently possible as of the date/time of this reply, you may record by connecting an external recorder to the camera's HDMI port, such as the Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor, B&H # ATNINJAV • MFR # ATOMNJAV01, onto which you may connect an SSDmini or SSD with Master Caddy II/III hard drive such as the Angelbird AtomX SSDmini (1TB), B&H # ANATOMXM1000 • MFR # ATOMXMINI1000PK.

Asked by: Carlos
The SmallRig Standard Accessory Kit for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro/6K G2, (B&H # SM3298) cage slot is specifically designed for the Samsung Portable T5 SSD. The Samsung 1TB T7 Shield Portable SSD will not work with the slot on the cage, though you can use a SSD holder that can be attached to the cage: SmallRig T5/T7 SSD Mount for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, (B&H # SM3272) bhpho.to/3KHpq2K
