Ideal for outdoor use, the Samsung 1TB T7 Shield Portable SSD features a rubber protected exterior and an IP65 rating, providing content creators with both performance and durability. The rugged design and advanced outer elastomer protect it from drops while still being lightweight and portable. Moreover, the T7 Shield offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and 1,000 MB/s respectively. Its USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port provides wide compatibility.
Fast Performance, Strong Security
The T7 Shield delivers a max read speed of 1,050 MB/s and a max write speed of 1,000 MB/s through its USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. It is approximately twice as fast as its predecessor, the T5, and up to 9.5 times faster than a traditional external hard disk drive. The T7 Shield supports 256-bit AES hardware encryption to keep the data safe and secure, even if the T7 Shield is lost. Plus, it provides access to Samsung's Magician Software, which lets users conveniently manage the drive.
IP65-Rated Durability
Carefully engineered by Samsung from the inside out, the T7 Shield is shock-resistant from drops of up to 9.8 feet. It also has an IP65 rating, providing dust and water resistance. The high-tech rubber exterior with Dynamic Thermal Guard controls heat to maintain steady performance even for large projects. The stylish rubberized grip prevents slips. Even though it has a rugged design, the T7 Shield is still compact and lightweight, weighing just 3.5 ounces.
Wide Compatibility, Including Galaxy and iPhone
Store pictures, games, as well as 4K and 8K video on the T7 Shield. The USB Type-C port on the T7 Shield allows it to be compatible with a wide variety of devices. You can use the T7 Shield to connect to a Windows computer or a Mac. Android devices and game consoles can also utilize the T7 Shield for expanded storage. The T7 Shield is compatible with the Apple iPhone 15/Pro/Pro Max, with support for ProRes 1080p/30 fps, 4K/30 fps, and 4K/60 fps. The T7 Shield is also compatible with Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

Asked by: Eduardo
Unfortunately, no, you may not use an external hard drive such as the Samsung 1TB T7 Shield Portable SSD (Black) connected to the USB port of the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera. However, while recording via the USB port is not currently possible as of the date/time of this reply, you may record by connecting an external recorder to the camera's HDMI port, such as the Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor, B&H # ATNINJAV • MFR # ATOMNJAV01, onto which you may connect an SSDmini or SSD with Master Caddy II/III hard drive such as the Angelbird AtomX SSDmini (1TB), B&H # ANATOMXM1000 • MFR # ATOMXMINI1000PK.
