VERY DIFFICULT TO SET UP

I do NOT recommend buying this product. I repeat... I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying the skybell slim 2 doorbell camera. We bought three (almost $500) and can't get them to work and since there are no refunds, we are stuck with them. I WISH I HAD CHOSEN A DIFFERENT BRAND. I chose this one based on a youtuber that I trust, but he let me down this time unfortunately. We installed them on the house, went online and created an account, then downloaded the app to the phone. NOW THE APP WILL NOT LET ME LOGIN USING THE SAME USERNAME AND PASSWORD THAT *DOES* WORK ON THE WEBSITE. I can login fine on the laptop. The app won't let me login. So now we have three doorbell cameras, fully installed, which don't work at all because you have to use the app to activate the cameras. So the cameras are just sitting there, dead. I feel very disappointed. I have been buying from B&H for many years, have spent tens of thousands here. DONT BUY THE HONEYWELL/RESIDIO/SKYBELL product. You will be sorry if you do.

I recently purchased a home that had CPI Alarm System (Alarm.com) and it came with Slim Doorbell Camera. Slim Models are for the alarm companies while Trim model are of retail consumers. Since I didn't have a subscription to CPI, it would not let me view the camera on the Skybell app nor on the IQ Panel 2, again without the subscription, I can't use those features. I contacted Skybell and they referred me to B&H as they had it on sale. The Trim 2 comes unlocked and will work just fine on the Skybell app, on the other hand without a subscription to an alarm system, I can't see the live feed on the panel. I eventually went with ADT and it came with Slim 2 camera as part of the bundle. Now I was able to see who was at the door via the panel and the ADT app, because I was a subscriber. You can't have the camera in both places, meaning with ADT Control app and Skybell App, and since my goal was to be able to view it on my phone and the alarm panel, I needed to use the ADT app vs Skybell app. I'm very pleased with Trim 2, it supports dual band wifi (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz), it's 1080p quality, super easy to setup. The reason why I have to return it and it's not because I don't want to keep this camera but it's due to the limitation of the alarm panel. With ADT I was getting the new IQ Panel 4 but it only supports 1280 by 800 pixels, and I wanted to use the full 1080p quality of the Trim 2. Since the panel is limited to 800 pixels, that means the only way I can view someone at the door is if I changed the resolution of the camera to 720p and not 1080p. The panel would try to display the 1080 feed live but it would only be black and white pixels and no actual images can be seen. All the alarm companies not matter who you go with will only offer 720p camera, and they are locked to that specific alarm company, they will not offer anything higher than that because they know their panels can't support the higher quality images. I hope this review helps people out there with the research and details I found. I spent days trying to research which camera I wanted, the Slim 2 vs Trim 2. At the end of the day I will return the Trim 2 and just have to put up with the Slim 2 for now until the panels can handle at least 1080p.

The SkyBell was very easy to install. Theere is no monthly fee for this door Video camera. The Application is simple and allows to handle multiple of the SlyBell with ease.

The Skybell HD app does work but it is a royal pain. It is not intuitive and it is labor intensive. The instructions in the box have the wrong app listed. The app on the instructions flat out will not work as confirmed by tech support. I could not make it work without tech support. I ordered 2 Skybells. After I finally got #1 working I opened #2 to discover the box was missing the base plate & screw package. Of course B & H immediately supplied an RMA & is shipping a new unit. I finally was able to get one working and, finally, it does work so far.

I tried other door bell cameras only to be sadly disappointed. The SkyBell was far superior to any other model. No need for a separate door bell, and the video quality is outstanding.

I bought this video doorbell brand mainly because my home security system is all Honeywell components. But in reviewing it, I saw you did not have to pay a subscription to record videos. You can download any video before it is erased in a 7 day window. What I did not see in my research was you had to buy an extra piece if your doorbell chime is digital. When it did not work correctly, then I found out. With that extra piece, it works great.

Is a subscription required? I don't understand why you can't put this in the description. 99% of most video doorbells require a subscription. Why hide this?

Per Honeywell: Is there a monthly fee for SkyBell? No, there is no monthly fee! Cloud storage is provided for a rolling seven (7) days of activity history. Once a video hits the seven day mark, it will be automatically removed from your activity feed unless you delete before that time. You can always save the videos to your mobile device to keep as long as you need.
