The Jensen Vintage Alnico P8R library is designed exclusively for use with TH-U SuperCabinet, which can either be used as a standalone IR library or with TH-U. SuperCabinet allows you to:

• Graphically browse the IRs in the library
• Blend them together
• Craft new cabinet tones with the unique multiband mode
• Use the IR in the software
• Export the IRs in WAV file format, compatible with software IR loaders and all the major hardware modelers 

One of the archetypal speakers in the range, the P8R has been installed in thousands of Champ- and Princeton-style amps for years. Slightly clearer sounding than the C8R, its ceramic cousin, the P8R shines in clean and slightly crunchy applications, where the typical chime of the AlNiCo magnets helps the sparkling harmonics to bloom. As many tone connoisseurs well know, the 8" speakers may sound slightly small in their typical small open-back cabinet, but deliver an incredibly balanced and extended tone, with their trademark immediacy well supported in the bass range by the proximity effect of 19 microphones in 16 positions, as per the classic Overloud procedure.

This library also includes the remastered version of all the IRs. The vintage Jensen speakers were designed mainly for clean tones. The maximum overdrive achievable back in those days was generated by the amplifier's natural clipping and compression and by some of the earlier fuzz pedals. Those speakers were voiced for sparkly, shimmering treble response, with a remarkable amount of energy well over 6 kHz, to be coupled with the warm-sounding circuits and the thin resonant cabinets of the era. The IRs of the vintage Jensen speakers behave exactly as expected: bright, clear, and detailed.

In the modern world, especially with high-gain tones that are naturally very rich in harmonic overtones, all of this energy in the treble range may occasionally turn into an overly bright, aggressive tone. To further expand the possible applications of these historic speakers, Overloud decided to offer a remastered version of the vintage Jensen IRs, where the top-end response is finely tuned to be warmer and less prominent, making it more suitable for contemporary higher-gain applications. This creates a sort of virtually aged tone that offers a whole new range of sounds for every application. All the IRs in the library are effectively doubled by the remastered version, opening up new possibilities to the player beyond the original hardware.

Every microphone has been moved to 4 different horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge), two distances and two angles, for a total of 16 IRs each. All the measurements set have been repeated for each cabinet in the library, and all IRs have been phase aligned, so they can be blended without phase cancellation.
