Apple iPad Air 10.9" Early 2022 5th Gen Overview

Now featuring the powerful Apple M1 chip, the 10.9" iPad Air from Apple delivers incredible performance to run the most demanding apps and workflows, all while still maintaining power efficiency and all-day battery life. Compared to the previous generation iPad Air, the iPad Air with the M1 8-core chip delivers up to 60 percent faster performance, while the 8-core GPU provides up to twice the performance. Along with the CPU and GPU, the M1 chip also features a 16-core Neural Engine that can power machine learning functions, allowing for next-level experiences. Whether you're editing multiple 4K video streams, playing graphics-intensive games, redesigning your room in 3D, or using augmented reality (AR), the iPad Air can handle it all.

The iPad Air also features a 10.9" Liquid Retina Display with a 2360 x 1640 resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi). The Liquid Retina Display still has all the features you expect, such as P3 wide color gamut coverage, True Tone, anti-reflective and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coatings, 500 nits of brightness, and support for the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil (sold separately).

Enjoy Center Stage on this iPad Air, thanks to the Ultra Wide 12MP front camera. Center Stage automatically pans to keep everyone in view as they move around. When others join in, the camera automatically detects them and smoothly zooms out to include them in the frame, allowing for a more engaging FaceTime experience. The rear Wide 12MP camera can record 4K video and take sharp photos.

For connectivity, the iPad Air features dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0. The iPad Air also supports 5G mobile broadband, allowing you to connect from anywhere you get a signal from the carrier of your choice (data plans sold separately). Apple has updated the USB Type-C port to the USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard, allowing for speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. Touch ID is integrated into the top button. Touch ID uses your fingerprint to provide a safe and secure way to unlock your iPad Air as well as log into apps and use Apple Pay.

The 8-core CPU of M1 delivers up to 60% faster performance. And M1 has an 8-core GPU in a class of its own, providing up to 2x faster graphics performance to the iPad Air. So you can build intricate AR models, play games with console-quality graphics at high frame rates, and more.
Liquid Retina Display
The iPad Air has a 10.9" Liquid Retina Display with a 2360 x 1640 resolution and P3 wide color gamut coverage for vivid colors. It also has True Tone, 500 nits of brightness, and an anti-glare coating for better viewing. True Tone optimizes the white balance of the display to best fit your ambient light, so it's easy on the eyes. The screen supports the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil.

Supporting the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil (sold separately), the iPad Air lets you write and draw freely as if you had a pen and paper.
Touch ID
The Touch ID sensor is now integrated into the top button. The Touch ID sensor is a safe and secure way to unlock your iPad Air, log into apps, and use Apple Pay.
USB Type-C
The USB Type-C connector has replaced the Lightning connector as a one-cable solution for a wide variety of connectivity options. It supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds of up to 10 Gb/s.

I ordered this for my child code me 7 hundred dollars and then when i ordered it said u never ordered this so i went to my account it was minus 700 dollars and i never got the I pad. Never buy this

Hello, this long-time Adobe user is now reading the writing on the wall. This iPad Air 10.9" Early 2022 5th Gen with M1 Chip will be sufficient for 4K editing using current Final Cut Pro X? Thanks for your patience with me. You are the people I trust for all this stuff.

This will edit 4k video, however Final Cut Pro X is not supported by iPadOS. We may see it in a future update.

Wondering if this will run Adobe Premiere Pro smoothly? I want to edit 4K. I like the idea of going Apple over PC. But I don't want to change to FCP yet. Is there anyone who is using Premiere Pro on this or a similar iPAD?

Can SanDisk 256GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive (USB Type-C / Type-A) or similar work in a plug and play mode? I would not mind getting the 64gb model and have my content on a flash drive.
