Power2000 EN-EL18d Reviews
Slight Charging Deficit
I have charged this battery many times with my Nikon battery charger, but the battery will only charge to 93%. However, if I use 10% of the charge, for instance, I get the same number of exposures as I get with 10% of the Nikon battery. In other words, the Power 2000 performs like the Nikon EN-EL18d, but it simply doesn't charge as much (93% versus 100%). But for the low price, versus the Nikon battery, it is worth keeping.
4 month update
Updated review. Moderate use over the last 4 months. It now has significantly decreased battery life. Probably charged and discharged around 15 times. When new, it was about 80%? of the Nikon battery. Now it is only about 40-50% as good as the original Nikon battery life.
Works as it should!
Only just received but it charges in the MH-33 charger just like the Nikon EN-EL18d. The Z9 recognizes it and functions normally. I bought the Nikon battery cover to ease battery swaps. Too early to tell how battery life is during normal use so only 4 stars but great price point compared to the Nikon battery. I would not hesitate to purchase another.
Good battery
Seems to be a good replacement battery for the Z9. Works in camera and with OEM charger. Inexpensive vs. factory unit
Works with the Nikon Z9
Bought two of these batteries to try with my Z9, since I shoot video and video drains the battery much faster than taking stills, so extra batteries, so extra batteries where a must for me, now I have four, two Nikon and two Power2000. My initial impression is good, both batteries work for now, let's hope this will continue. In regards to capacity, I believe it's the same as the Nikon brand battery, the battery says 3800mAh, but it's closer to the capacity of the Nikon brand battery which is 3300mAh. I also noticed that the Nikon battery is slightly heavier, so I placed each on a scale without the terminal protective cover on each battery, just the battery alone, and I was correct, the Nikon battery weighs 5.9 oz. while the Power2000 weighs 5.5 oz. Which makes me think that the jacket/casing that seals the battery is slightly thicker. Otherwise the Power2000 works with the Nikon Z9. The Power2000 also charges with the Nikon charging station and the Wasabi charging station which I use to charge the Wasabi batteries that I use in the Vello battery grip for my D850, the wasabi batteries have been holding up extremely well for two years with the D850, lets hope these Power2000 do the same with the Z9, the Power2000 do not work with the Vello grip and the D850, if anyone wants to know. I will update my review if anything changes.
Great Price!
The battery seems to be as good as the original for a lot less, although I've only used it once. Just ordered a second one.
batteries are good ... awaiting to evaluate charger
This is the second time I have purchased this, as the first time the charging unit failed. Without the charging unit I can still charge the batteries with the Nikon charger, although not to the full capacity of the batteries as they have a bit more capacity than the Nikon battery. My battery experts tell me that having the battery with more capacity than the original Nikon should not be a problem and certainly at the price it's worth another try. I know however that if this charger fails I'll just keep my batteries and not bother with a return as I wouldn't be able to get 2 batteries at this price.
Garbage
Ordered one and the first time I charged it and put it in the camera, the camera rejected it with a warning on the back LCD of my Z9. Returned and exchanged for another one in August. Charged and worked fine until now (January 2023). Put it in the camera and the same thing. Too late for a return. I've learned my lesson and will buy a genuine Nikon battery next. Maybe it's just bad luck. The Watson might be better, but I've been burned twice.
