Audio professionals looking for an active full-range speaker with modern DSP technology should check out the HK Audio LINEAR 7 115 FA, a powered speaker that is suitable for a wide range of applications, offering top performance and easy handling.
The speaker utilizes a 2000W Class-D amplifier to drive the 15" woofer and 1" high-frequency driver, which combine to offer a full-range frequency response (57 Hz to 19 kHz) with plenty of volume to cover an audience (134 dB SPL). Notable features include mixed IIR/FIR filtering to ensure a very linear frequency response and low system latency. The narrow dispersion horn is rotatable and enables higher ranges. The enclosure of the LINEAR 7 115 FA is designed with angled sides for acoustically correct clustering. A DuoTilt 3/7° pole mount flange adds flexibility when deploying, while the MultiGrip handles ease in transport and set up/breakdown. A powerCON power cord is included.
- Active full-range loudspeaker with network control
- 15" bass-midrange driver with 3" voice coil
- 1" compression driver with 1.7" voice coil
- Rotatable CD horn, 60 × 40° (horizontal × vertical)
- DSP platform with fully parametric 10-band EQ, delay, and limiting for uncompromised individual adjustment
- Modern network technology for precise control of all DSP features
- Additional DSP-Out with the full range of features of the DSP that lets you operate a non-network-compatible loudspeaker
- Direct access to easily selectable presets on the speaker for use in a system with LINEAR 7 subwoofers or full-range operation without a subwoofer
- High-resolution AD/DA converters with 96 kHz, FIR filtering, and low latency of less than 2.6ms
- 60° clustering bracket integrated in enclosure
- DuoTilt for 3 or 7° tilt for tripod mounting
- User-friendly rigging and mounting options
- Professional powerCON and EtherCON connections
- Sturdy hybrid housing made of birch multiplex and MDF
- In addition to the analog, balanced signal inputs and outputs, all LINEAR 7 models offer professional EtherCon connections. All devices in the system can be connected in series in a chain (daisy chain).
- The full-range and multifunctional models can be preset, depending on the type of use (standalone, as a monitor, or in combination with a subwoofer).
- The XLR signal output labelled “DSP Out” provides a network interface for integrating an additional active speaker that is not originally network-compatible. This can be independently controlled in its volume, filtering, limiting, and delay. For example, LINEAR 7 mid/high units can be operated with LINEAR subwoofers or LINEAR 5 LTS with the L7 118 Sub A subwoofer on the same network.
- A powerCon socket connects the speaker to the mains. The LINEAR 7 speakers’ state-of-the-art wide-range power supply units can be operated on all voltages between 90 and 260 volts and reliably stabilize the supply voltage, even when operating on power generators.
- Extended remote controlling: until recently, only the large touring system price category made it possible to control every mid/high unit, every bass, and every stage monitor centrally from the FoH position. Now, with the LINEAR 7 range, this modern and highly efficient workflow can also be achieved in top-range professional point sound sources. Every single LINEAR 7 speaker on the network can be accessed centrally via Mac or PC, and its volume, EQ, limiting, delay, and polarity can be controlled in detail.
DSP-Out
- One extra-special feature that is only available with the LINEAR 7 range is that an additional, non-network-compatible active speaker (e.g. from the LINEAR series) can be integrated into the network via DSP-Out and then, all parameters individually remote controlled. This ensures that existing infrastructure retains its value as well as its future viability.
- A fully parametric 10-band EQ, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, delay, polarity, and limiting are available independently for both the speakers and DSP-Out.
