  • 1Description

This dual-purpose Bowens 45" Umbrella (Silver/White) features a reflective white interior surface. It is backed by a removable black fabric with a silver surface, which provides a soft but highly efficient bounced light source.
For close-up lighting, the silver/black backing can be removed, allowing the photographer to get closer to the subject while lighting through the translucent umbrella.

The unique 10-panel design provides maximum reflectance and an optimum circle pattern of light. The resulting light is perfect for catch lights in the eyes. This size is perfect for portraits of 1 or 2 people.

Bowens BW-4046 reviews

45" Umbrella (Silver/White) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Umbrella bigger than expected 46 is a lot bigger than I expected. That is both good and bad. I shoot a lot outdoors and it can be a little unruly in a breeze. It provides a nice big light bounce or diffusion. I comes in a nice little case. Sadly when I first setup the umbrella it fell over before I could sandbag it and bent severely. I was able to bend everything back and it is fine. Still there's that stigma that its no longer perfect, but at this price I can afford more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid choice This umbrella is a solid choice for off-camera flash photography. It's very sturdy and opens and closes with ease. It does a great job at producing soft light either when bouncing the flash off the reflective surface or shooting through the white surface. It's not super quick to remove the backing but also not as hard as I expected. Basically, you need to pop off little metal tubes that go over the end of the umbrella spikes. The shaft of my umbrella came slightly bent and there is also a small discolored spot on the white fabric, but neither of these are a hindrance to its use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price for great quality. I use this umbrella primarily in its shoot-through configuration, but the reflective silver lining on the shell makes it great for bounce, as well. The shell is easy to remove and replace, keeping in mind that only a few points need to be fastened for it to function perfectly well as a bounce umbrella. This is a nice, large light source good for portraits of 1-3 people. As a shoot-through umbrella, the light is soft and even. I use it with an SB-900 and am very happy with its performance so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the umbrella I love how sturdy the umbrella is. Plus removing the white reflector is very easy. During my shoot i wanted a little more bounce so i lowered half of the white reflector and it only took a couple of seconds. A great price for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Umbrella! These are by far, my favorite umbrellas. I have several, I'm rough on them, and they can take a beating. These things get opened and closed hundreds of times a day, and every day of the week (sometimes in places you wouldn't imagine!) in my line of photography, Real Estate. Excellent product, at a very reasonable price! B&H Rocks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent umbrella Use mainly as a shoot through for indoor location work instead of carting softboxes. Used on my Bowen Gemini 500 Pro units. You may need to watch it closely if used outside as it will catch the wind. Very happy with the build quality and it feels like it will last a long time. Would not hesitate to buy another one if needed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Economical, versatile, minor flaws Good beginner umbrella, versatile - can use as reflector, shoot thru, or can fold back the black outer cover to use as a partial shot thru to control the lite. The little crip on metal piece for the center hole has already broken, replacing it with something from the hardware store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I recently bought these to shoot scool pictures. They are so much better than the 'kit' umbrella that came with my lights. My portraits came out great! I like the build quality...very sturdy. I also like how the black/relfective cover clips on. So far, no problems.
