Can this system be battery powered for use in the field? For example on a cart?
no it will no work with Dc power so it would need to be plugged into an AC power source. if there isn't an AC source available in the field then it would not be possible to power this unit.

Can this system be used as a FM transmitter to the FM radios in cars?
This would not work for as FM transmitter to a car radio as it doesn't run on the same frequencies and would need a compatible receiver to get a signal.

under optimal conditions, what is the range?
Under optimal conditions, you can get up to 1,000 ft of coverage with this transmitter and our LA-122 antenna. Different antenna's can have different coverage area's, with LA-122 giving the most. If you are looking for more coverage, I would recommend our 216 MHz system which can give up to 3,000 ft of coverage. Thank you.
