The SH-747FC 3-Way Pan-Tilt Head from Slik is a pan-tilt head for both still image and video content creators. It features Slik's new Dual-Stage Arca-type compatible quick release platform, which provides a choice between the traditional (side-to-side) quick release plate placement on still cameras and the common (front-to-back) quick release plate placement on video cameras. A simple release lever allows the dual-stage to rotate and lock in the preferred position. The independent pan and tilt Friction Control dials allows the "drag" or resistance against movement be fine-tuned when panning or tilting. This makes for smooth movements for video work or when using spotting scopes or binoculars

A 3-way pan head offers separate controls for tilt, pan, and horizon leveling, providing more precise adjustments on one axis while not affecting the other two axes, for more accurate framing of a subject. This type of control can be difficult to control with ball heads because all axis are released when the ball is loosened. A horizon leveling knob comes pre-installed on the head to help reduce the travel profile of the head, making it easier to pack or attach to a backpack, or other case. A regular handle is included for use if preferred.
