Dell U3023E Reviews
Too much glow
I'm OK with slightly reduced sharpness of this display compared to my old U2719 (x1440) and new U3223 (4k). Increasing sharpness setting in the monitor OSD does not really increase sharpness of fonts but rather introduces artifacts, so values 40 or 50 are the best. What really bothers me is the strong color glow. Am not sure whether it is produced by coating or IPS, but if you face the middle of the monitor from 50-70 cm, all periphery is glowing bluish, looks like uneven colors across the panel. Indeed, when I move my head to periphery to look at these areas straight, they look normal. Because of this glow, even non-critical image editing is very cumbersome, I have constant gymnastics to my neck and dance around the monitor rather than seat in front of it!
Great monitor for XPS-13 9310 and Linux
Great monitor, works perfectly with my XPS-13 9310 running linux. The monitor has a wonderful 16:10 aspect ratio, just like the laptop, so I just need to use xrandr to scale the display by 1.5x1.5. Perfect for both Linux and a kernel-based virtual machine running Windows 11. Just what I needed!
Amazing Monitor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this device. It is even better when utilizing the software to split up screen.
A high end monitor that delivers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a most capable and versatile monitor. The screen is indeed "ultra sharp" with excellent contrast and clarity. The USB single cable option is very attractive where available. In my case a displayport connection was used and USB via a second cable. The built-in USB hub ports make connecting a keyboard and mouse a snap. The stand for this monitor plays an important role in how nice it is to use. Adjustable over a wide range of height and tilt users of virtually any height can be accommodated. The ability to rotate the monitor into portrait mode is a nice option too for certain applications. I'm very pleased with this high-end monitor. It delivers in my application.
Beautiful Monitor, Great MacOS Support
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good support for MacOS, the PPI is inline with Apples own 30" cinema display and thus MacOS UI scaling is good. Extremely bright and very good color, looks great next to my MacBooks display
Reasonable priced 16:10 work monitor
First reasonably priced monitor with a ratio 16:10. Build in USB-C dock is handy for laptops. Added ability quick change between two computer is helpful for those work from home.
Excellent display with a minor usability issue
This is an excellent, professional grade monitor at a good price. There is one design flaw: The monitor has an RJ-45 port and an USB-C port located on the edge for easy accessibility, but they are on the bottom edge! Short of tipping or rotating the display, the only way to plug something in is by touch. I guess the usability engineer was off sick the day they added that feature.
16:10 is hard to find. Why go to the effort of a large screen when it looks like a vision slit? This is far more productive than 16:9 screens.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 16:10 in very large format is what I need for what I do. This replaces a smaller 16:10 and does everything better. The stand is easy to assemble and very stable. No problems dialing in the adjustments to get both of them perfectly situated to give one enormous desktop. The display quality is high enough that I don't need better. It's nice to get the factory calibration report with the monitor. The bezel is quite small, easing side-by-side use. I cranked up a video game in 2560 x 1600 and wow! That's a lot of detail! No issues with speed that I could detect, though my video card fans turned my PC into a high output space heater.
