The Sony E mount 75mm T2.9 Anamorphic 1.6x Lens, from Sirui, fills a theater screen with rich detail, cinematic bokeh, and artistic lens flairs. This full-frame lens produces oval bokeh and horizontal blue streaks, giving your footage a dreamy or science fiction aesthetic. An image captured in 16:9 is de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio, whereas shooting in 3:2 yields a 2.4:1 final image.

Its T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, blurring everything in front or behind the specifically chosen focal plane. This 75mm features female 1/4"-20 threading for a lens support, and its focus and aperture rings are uniformly geared like its 50mm companion for use with a follow focus and lens control systems.

Full-Frame Coverage
This 75mm lens provides coverage for full-frame cameras with a wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio in 16:9 and a 2.4:1 aspect ratio when shooting 3:2. Use it to create crisp widescreen looks with exceptionally sharp subjects and soft and natural backgrounds.
Anamorphic Field of View
The anamorphic design with a 1.6x squeeze factor creates a horizontal angle of view equal to 46mm on a spherical lens, making it suitable for general usage. Shooting with this lens creates a compressed look where objects in the distance seem to be zoomed in, making it useful for both close-up and longer shots.
Anamorphic Effects
Ten aperture blades create creamy oval bokeh, while coated optical glass elements help create the horizontal blue-streak effects typical of anamorphic lenses.
High-Quality Build
This rugged 75mm Sirui prime features a durable all-metal housing, a front 82mm filter thread, and a 1/4"-20 thread compatible with many lens supports.

I normally shoot all spherical lenses for my film work (Sigma Art Primes), so I'm very critical of things like detail and clarity. Long story short- I didn't expect much from this brand, based on things I've seen and heard about their previous offerings. This line of lenses (I have the 50mm as well) is outlandishly sharp and detailed wide open, with minimal (if any?) CA or artifacts to be seen in the frame. Anamorphic characteristics are very apparent, despite not being a true 2X lens, and flares definitely make themselves known when shooting into point light sources. I don't love the sci-fi blue color, but the overall character of them as well as the softer veiling flare from larger/softer bright light sources is very pleasing to my eye. Distortion is minimal, even on the wider 50mm. As someone shooting on a 16:9 sensor (FX3) I think Sirui struck a good balance between anamorphic squeeze vs usable real estate on common sensor sizes. I don't have to crop too much of the image out to get a more standard 2.39:1 ratio, and overall I just find the whole experience of shooting with these lenses to be tons of fun, and they really give an insane and unbeatable value for money when you compare to other full frame anamorphic options in the market right now. If you're doing a big budget project and want to shoot anamorphic, sure you can rent some of the big boys, but for everything else- these give really impressive results. T2.9 isn't super bright, but I find it hard to fault the lens or Sirui for this, as fast and anamorphic don't really belong in the same sentence together anyway. Focus and aperture gears are solid and have a nice dampening to them. Focus throw is a bit short for a cine style lens, but I use remote FF anyway, so I can dial in the focus throw manually that way. And I imagine for anyone using a manual FF or by hand it's actually nicer having a shorter throw. I've been looking for reasons to change my mind about these lenses, but after multiple projects and color tests, I just can't fault them in any serious way, regardless of price. Definitely adding these to my regular rotation. Highly recommended!

Love it!

Very happy with this lens, gorgeous cinematic landscape and portrait. Very sharp lens. I use the lens for photography paired with Sony a7riii and a7riv. I do not shoot videos at all.

hi i am using this lens for still photography? does now one know the 'desqueeze' ratio? i tried 1.6 but it doesnt work. 1.33 ratio seems to work fine. but can anyone say what is the recommended desqueeze ration? i use Leica SL2S and the L mount version of the full frame 75mm thanks Best Kannan
Asked by: Kannan
For best results content needs to be captured in 16:9 and then de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio. we suggest the following compression 35 mm - 4K (16:9) 3840x2160 pixels (Sensor range: 6000 x 3368 pixels) 35 mm - Full HD (16:9) 1920x1080 pixels (Sensor range: 6000 x 3368 pixels)
