128GB Work for Canon Eos R5 8K Raw Video?

128GB Work for Canon Eos R5 8K Raw Video?
Asked by: Piyawut
I just tested this and it failed on 8K RAW recording after a few seconds. Re-tested several times, same issue. Made sure it was the only card in the camera. Tried 8K-D in RAW and 8K-U in all formats and all frame rates. I have firmware version 1.1.1 installed.

It can be done using a CF Express card reader but a portable SSD is a much better choice such as this Samsung: https://bhpho.to/3bSv12D

Will this card work with new Canon R5? it doesn't say type B? is typeB the better card for R5? The Lexar card says Type B, so does the San disk. is 2.0 the same as Type b ? which should I get for my R5 when I get it ?
Asked by: James
you have to be aware of the storage size. with solid state drives, the greater the size, the faster the speed (it's because of how higher storage memory works). the 512GB and 1TB drives can do 8k raw on the R5. the 128GB and the 256GB cards are not fast enough for 8k raw.

will this card work with Hasselblad X2D? and is there a limit in capacity? I m aware that officially only up to 512Gb
Asked by: riswan
The ProGrade Digital 512GB CFexpress 2.0 Type B Gold Memory Card (2-Pack) is not an approved memory card for the Hasselblad X2D. If it is used you may get an error message saying that this card might not operate properly. If you are planning to ignore that message the card may work. Larger 1tb cards will also work if you are planning on ignoring the error message.

Is this unit compatible with Sony a7r v?
Asked by: Daesuk James
No, the ProGrade Digital 256GB CFexpress 2.0 Type B Gold Memory Card is not compatible with the Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera. The a7R V uses CFexpress Type A cards, not Type B. For that camera one can use the ProGrade Digital 160GB CFexpress Type A Cobalt Memory Card, BH #PRPGCFXA160 (https://bhpho.to/3k4ojjz).
