Astera FP6 Overview

The FP6 HydraPanel LED Light with Case from Astera measures 6.5 x 3.3 x 1.7" and is ideal for studio or location work. Ideal for film and stage applications, it offers direct or indirect illumination of people, objects, or scenery. The adjustable color temperature ranges from a wide 1750 to 20,000K and it has 96 CRI and TLCI to ensure color accuracy. Its full-spectrum titan LED engine generates an impressive output of 1300 lumens and it will run for an hour and 45 minutes at maximum brightness on its built-in battery power.

Included is a lightweight panel and various modifiers including a diffuser, egg crates, and a gel holder. The HydraPanel can be mounted via its included FlexBase accessory, Baby pin, or rear magnet.  The panel comes with a power supply for Helios or Titan tube lights and a case for convenient storage and transportation.

Multiple Light Modifiers
The HydraPanel includes a wide range of light modifiers that can be easily clipped to the surface of the panel via four magnets.
  • Diffuser sheet 100 softens the beam and can be combined with egg crates
  • Intensifier 80 creates soft shadows while maintaining brightness and can also be combined with egg crates
  • Egg crate 40 and egg crate 60 narrow the beam spread and reduce spill light on the side
  • Soft frame 100 creates soft shadows and gives the HydraPanel a consistent surface
Unique Features
The HydraPanel delivers unique features such as Talkback+, seamless runtime, TruColor calibration, effects, green/magenta correction, scheduled standby, dynamic PowerBoost, emergency lights, anti-theft, DJ, and more available with the Astera app.
  • Talkback+ detects, sets, and checks the status of your light and configures DMX addresses and profiles.
  • Seamless runtime sets the length of your production
  • TruColor calibrates the light for color consistency and exact color reproduction of color temperature and filter gels
  • Effects quickly build programs from colors and effects
  • Flicker free so there will be no flickering while filming
  • Green/magenta correction adjusts green/magenta during content creation to reduce postproduction work
  • Scheduled standby sets the light to wake up when the production starts
  • Dynamic PowerBoost displays maximum brightness at all times and intensifies non-white colors
  • Emergency lights switch to white light when AC power is cut to keep your event safe
  • Anti-theft feature where the light produces visual and audible alarms and sends a notification to the app if it is being moved during an event
  • DJ feature analyzes and matches the beat
Smart Control System
The fixture enables infrared remote, wired DMX or wireless CRMX, and app control via Bluetooth to create big setups that can be quickly and conveniently installed, monitored, and adjusted. The device can also be partially controlled by its integrated display with a touch slider. The integrated control panel has buttons so you can directly navigate through the main menu for color adjustments, brightness, and runtime settings.

Case It comes in a pelican light case with foam inserts and is logically laid out for quick access. Your investment is well protected. Construction Both the light and accessories are very well-made. The light has a massive heat sink that adds to the structural rigidity of the entire product. This thing is a tank. The buttons offer solid feedback. The 10 sensitivity on the slider is perfect. Everything feels very well-made. Features Everything is magnets galore. It just snaps in perfectly and allows for multiple stacking of filters and components. The culture she was awesome as it allows to be attached to optional accessories or the included base. App The app runs well and it’s quick and snappy. Lots of features and customizability. I’ll take a few minutes to get used to, but once you do, you’ll fly through it. Setting up a preset is a breeze. Conclusion If you have the coin, it’s totally worth it. This is my first light from this company and I am sold on the system. I look forward to buying many many more devices.
