Building on the XPERIA 1 III, the Sony XPERIA 1 IV 512GB 5G Smartphone provides significant technological improvements that make it an enticing option for everyone from pro photographers to content creators across every major platform. It marries sophisticated mobile communication and internet access utilizing 5G sub6 and mmWave, with pro photo abilities that take cues from their Sony Alpha cameras. Each of the rear 12MP lenses can shoot in 4K HDR at up to 120 fps, and the telephoto lens sports actual optical zoom with a range of 85 to 125mm. Add in a 6.5" 4K 120 Hz HDR display, durable water-resistant chassis, and ample 512GB of storage, and the new XPERIA 1 IV can tackle nearly any mobile project.

Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS)

Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) allows you to lower your mobile costs when traveling while staying connected. Once your SIM cards are installed, you will be able to receive phone calls and text messages from either without needing to manually choose which one is active. When you want to make a call or send an SMS message, you can select the correct SIM card. When one SIM card is being used for a phone call, the other will not be active until you hang up. Operator charges may apply.

Pro Camera System

Each of the rear lenses supports 4K HDR video at up to 120 fps, but creators will really love the optics and shooting adjustments implemented by Sony's Alpha 9 engineers. The three lenses include a 12MP 16mm ultra-wide, a 12MP 24mm wide angle, and a 12MP telephoto. The telephoto in particular stands out with an optical zoom range of 85 to 125mm. You can actually seamlessly zoom from 16 to 375mm, switching from digital to optical and back.

For still photography, you can benefit from precision similar to that of the Alpha 9, with real-time Eye AF and AF/AE at 20 fps burst for all lenses. The real-time Eye AF boasts the ability to work on both humans and animals, and Eye AF tracking in real-time is available for photos and videos. In addition, you're supplied with 10-bit raw support, manual controls, and a 3D iToF sensor to allow for accurate background separation that delivers smooth bokeh. On the front of the phone is an 8MP selfie camera to handle your selfie needs.

4K Display

The display is also upgraded from the XPERIA 1 III, with a brighter 6.5" 4K 120 Hz HDR OLED screen with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. The display's quality makes it a versatile feature, letting you use it as a viewfinder for filming, as a camera monitor, or to stream UHD media and play the latest in mobile gaming.

Livestreaming

Setting it apart from other smartphones, the XPERIA 1 IV can livestream footage from your DSLR, or you can connect the phone to your camera to use it as a hi-res monitor. This is possible via the USB Type-C and an optional USB Type-C to micro-HDMI adapter cable.

Studio-Quality Sound

Using Sony's Music Pro, you can achieve studio-quality sound by recording onsite with the phone's mic and uploading it directly to the cloud. Once uploaded, AI processing cleans up the audio as needed. Note that this processing is only free for the first month up to 100MB, but just recording audio is always free.

Faster 5G Transfers

From livestreaming to AI-processed audio, all of it can be sent to and downloaded from the cloud even faster with the XPERIA 1 IV. Compared to the XPERIA 1 III, you now get access to both sub6 and the super-fast mmWave spectrums of 5G where available. This can equate to download speeds of up to 5.6 Gb/s and uploads up to 480 Mb/s.

Speak-to-Chat

Listening to music or podcasts with ANC turned on can offer you a quiet and personal experience in public, but what if you need to have a quick conversation? Without the need of switching modes and adjusting volume levels, Speak-to-Chat does it all automatically. All you have to do is talk. Built-in microphones detect that you're speaking and automatically let ambient sound in and lowers playback volume. When you're done with your conversation, the earbuds can detect this, too, reversing the volume and ANC changes back to where they were.

Precise Voice Pickup

When making hands-free calls, being heard and hearing others is essential but difficult when out on the street or in a noisy area. To fix this, Sony incorporates beamforming microphones and a bone conduction sensor. The mics focus their pickup pattern directly at your voice, while the sensor picks up the bone vibrations made in your mouth as you talk. This helps to ensure your voice is all that your listeners hear. When it comes to hearing others, you can activate noise cancellation during a mobile call to block surrounding audio.

Adaptive Sound Control

When enabled, the earbuds can learn the locations you frequently visit and how you listen at each location. Then when you revisit those locations, it can automatically adjust your audio as needed.

Long Battery Life

On a full charge, the earbuds can run for up to 8 hours in ANC mode. A charging case is included that features its own battery for an additional 16 hours of power. Simply place your earbuds inside and close the case to begin recharging them.

Quick Charge

In a rush? A quick 5-minute recharge in the case gives the earbuds up to 1 hour of playback time.

Google & Swift Pairing

Say goodbye to complex and annoying pairing processes with Google Fast Pair and Swift Pair. Google Fast Pair immediately pairs the earbuds to a compatible nearby Android device when the case is opened. A single tap on the notification is all you need to do in order to finalize the pairing process. Swift Pair helps you pair the earbuds to Windows 10 laptops, desktops, and tablets, offering you pop-up guidance through the process.

Auto Pause/Play
