DJI RS 3 Pro Reviews
Publicized features do not exist
According to the Compatibility Tables published by DJI for this gimbal, you should be able to control the ISO, aperture, and shutter on Canon's R5C through the gimbal's front wheel. That's false. This publicized feature was the main reason I updated to the RS3 Pro from the RS2 Pro. The only thing the camera control cable allows you to do is start and stop recording...and that was possible with the RS2. Also, the camera freezes periodically when using the gimbal and you are required to remove the camera from the gimbal, remove the camera's battery, and re-start the camera. This is noted in the compatibility table, where it states you need to make sure the camera recording indicator is green before recording again otherwise the camera will freeze... I have been extremely careful in this regard but the camera still freezes. It did so twice on a job yesterday.
Hands Down the Best Small Gimbal on the Market!
This is as smart and versatile as it is advertised to be. This is my LAST gimbal!!
This thing is like magic, BUT
This thing is like magic, BUT it isn't. You still need skills to make the magic happen. There IS a learning curve. You'll need to learn a lot of menus and gimbal related terminology, and you'll need to learn how to move with it... or you won't get good, smooth results. Also, and this isn't a knock on the product at all, but you'll need to be in decent physical condition to use it with anything heavier than an iPhone or a Sony ZV-1. Get ready to start doing some yoga and stretches again. If you don't have the time to put into the learning process, don't buy it. That said, this is one of the finest pieces of production technology I've ever held in my hand. It's truly impressive. Despite it's light weight it feels premium and super sturdy. It pairs easily with smart phones and cameras. It delivers on what it promises. The only real knock against that I have so far is the case and the packaging that it comes in. The box it comes in is really flimsy and was beaten up really bad when I got it, which didn't turn out to be a problem since it comes in a very sturdy semi-hard case. So, wait, didn't I say that I had a problem with the case? Yep. It IS very sturdy, and reasonably well padded on the inside, but it isn't well organized at all, IMO, and it's not really big enough for everything that comes in it. I can barely zip the thing shut. Not cool. I would have preferred a lower price and no case at all over what they provided. I'm guying a 3rd party case so that I feel like it's well protected and easy to find everything when putting it all together and putting it away.
worst than RS 2
I was trying to use this gimbal for professional work, but it failed. I was much better off with the previous model which was much more efficient. This version is a joke. I am very disappointed.
Small but solid updates
At first glance it doesn't seem like it's a necessary successor to the RS2. But it actually fixes some of the problems of the RS2 and it's a lot faster. Definitely worth the price difference.
Exactly as advertised and more
This is a piece of gear that will completely change the way I work. DJI's tutorials are easy to understand and I felt comfortable getting into hands-on tests with it right away. It is very intuitive, and I am walking into my first shoot with complete confidence. The technology is top-notch and really works.
Heavy and wishedbluetooth worked with more cameras.
You're gonna need some stuff to trick the kit out. Which I could run it off an alternate power souce like the T-800 could when the T-1000 stabbed him in the chest in that metal smelting place. But it will hold an AnnieB 90 battery and an s1h and a monitor and not even struggle. I wish you could save camera configs and layouts. Solid build and rugged. Aside from the power issue, I give it 4 stars.
Same as before...just better.
You know DJI. Mission specific thinking. You are going to love it. No need to upload a picture.
